Post a list of your top five favorite fics you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.
1. My Golden Afternoon with the Grim Reaper (Pros)
The second Pros stories I ever wrote and one I'm still rather proud of. Bodie encounters a ghostly character in an English garden who may or may not be Death. I seem to have an affection for writing almost-but-not-quite death stories, and I think this is my best one. And it was also one of the easiest stories I ever wrote. The idea came to me in the shower, and I quickly got out, wrapped myself in a towel and wrote a good chunk of the first draft perched on our second floor stairs whilst I dripped onto the carpet.
2. The Terrible Doubt of Appearances (Wild Wild West)
Although I love the show, I don't know that I'd precisely call WWW one of my fandoms. But I do love writing stories in the universe. Partly, it's because I have a real fondness for Jim and Artie. Especially Artie. Partly it's because I enjoy doing the research to find some crazy incident from the time period that I can turn into a story. In this case, I wanted to do a first time meeting between Jim and Artie during the Civil War, and ended up researching Grierson's Raid into the Confederacy. (I had spreadsheets for timelines and pages and pages of details for the raid.)
3. Los Vivos y Los Muertos (UNCLE)
The third story in my Celebration Cycle. This is the story I wanted to write when I thought up the idea of doing a series of stories set during various holidays, but it took me a while to get to it. In part, because I knew I was going to have to start writing more background for Illya and Napoleon, and I wanted to take my time and get it right, since I'm (mostly) only writing one continuity in UNCLE and I want to make sure I don't muck it up. (I still haven't cracked the story that includes the first meeting of Illya and Napoleon, though it has an outline and a title: Reflections in a Distant Mirror)
4. The Rake's Descent (Clarissa/The Prophecy)
A rather nasty little tale that sprang from my Sean Bean/Viggo Mortensen LotR obsession. I took Robert Lovelace, the titular rake that Bean plays in the quite fab mini-series Clarissa, and had him encounter the version of Lucifer that Mortensen plays in The Prophecy, a nifty little B film. Needless to say, it does not have a happy ending.
5. Tempted and Velvet and Silk (Pros)
I wanted to include one of my two earliest smutty Pros stories, but I couldn't choose between them, so I'm cheating and including them both. Pros was the fandom that I seriously broke through the smut barrier - I'm actually shocked at how chaste my early UNCLE stories are - and these were the two stories where I got seriously stuck into the sex scenes. In the first one there's Alley Sex (tm). (And as I quickly found out, everyone loves alley sex.) In the second, there's Doyle posing in sexy clothes and getting molested by Bodie.
As for tagging, I've no idea who hasn't done this yet, but how about

I read "The Rake's Descent" and thought it was wonderful (I like several "nasty little stories" - "Technique" springs to mind, of course).
Thank you!

Oh, best news I've heard in a long time! I know, it's only an outline but I'll take what I can get. :-)

This one slipped past me, but I love Day of the Dead stories so I spent some time this morning catching up.
Loved the details ---and I just *knew* that dead wife would show up.
I was also wondering if all the people they've killed would also haunt them but then the story would have gotten really crowded :)
Nice job.

I'm surprised, and pleased, you gave The Rake's Descent a try. Though the comparison to Technique rather scares me. *g*

I shan't discourage you by telling you how many years that outline's been kicking around. (I think Illya and Napoleon are going to have to wrestle Bodie and Doyle to the ground before I get back to working seriously on UNCLE.)
On the positive side, Marian Kelly'll have two new UNCLE stories from me in this year's Relative Secrecy. (Alas, it'll be the last UNCLE zine from Marian. And quite likely the last fanfic from me for quite a while.)

I had to throw in Napoleon's wife. As well as someone from Illya's childhood. I had a huge long list of other potential ghosts, but decided to keep it to two a piece.
As for being haunted by the people they've killed, Illya did get visited by Egret and in my universe, he killed her.

I was just sorta picturing something like zombie hordes :)

Oh, for the time to write it.

Yay! That zine is going to sell out. I hope she makes enough copies.
And quite likely the last fanfic from me for quite a while.)
Don't be quite so pessimistic. I actually wrote *more* when my son was little. Otherwise, you go stir crazy (especially if you're taking off from work for a bit)

I hope this is the case. But I'm taking the pressure off myself to keep up with fandom for at least the first little while so I can concentrate on the mom thing. When we're all down to a routine, then I'll start writing again. (I'm taking close to a year off - hoorah! - so I'm sure I'll be going stir crazy by the end.)

Lol, that would be a sight to see!

Oh, yay!
Alas, it'll be the last UNCLE zine from Marian. And quite likely the last fanfic from me for quite a while.
I was sorry to hear about Marian's decision but I can imagine where publishing might become a chore. And, while I can completely understand you wanting to spend time with the lovely new addition to your family, I'll miss your work and hope you find time for it soon.
