Music Fan Squee

Just got back from seeing the Police's first Toronto show, and it was a blast. Even if we were sitting in the extreme nosebleeds. (I'm very much looking forward to November, when the boys swing back through Toronto for their third show here and we have awesome seats.)

The show opened with a bang, Stewart's gong and Message in a Bottle. They did so very many of my favourites (So Lonely, King of Pain, Synchronicity 2, Dee Do Do Do) and some unexpected gems, including an amazing arrangement of Voices Inside My Head/When the World Is Running Down. And when they started Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic and I realized that Andy had switched from his red Stratocaster to his sunburst Telecaster, I was one very, very happy fangirl. The Strat's nice and all, but Andy can just make that Telecaster sing. /guitar geekery

And now it's time for this very tired fangirl to go to bed.

You can't see it from here, but I have gooseflesh that has broken out on both arms. OOOOOOOOH! Can't wait for next weekend. Can. Not. Wait!

Glad Toronto was a blast! The Voices/When the World bit is consistently one of my favorite parts of the show, along with the new version of Walking in Your Footsteps.

I think the Tele issue is because Andy's using the new Fender tribute model, not his original one (which is so frail anymore he can't risk taking it on the road). I think there were some "issues" with the tribute model that are still being worked out--plus he's confessed to being so in love with that red strat these days he just has a hard time putting it down...

It was utterly fabulous. You should have a grand time. And I can't wait for November to do it all again from better seats.

I rather thought the Tele might be a tribute model. Too bad about the original. I love the sound of the Tele pickup; it's warmer than the Strat's. Not that he's not brilliant on the Strat. *g*

Can't wait for November and our next round.

Thanks again for getting the tickets. It was indeed a fabulous show despite the seats and not being able to hear the banter clearly between songs.

I envy (will envy) your better seats in November.
