Fun Lord of the Rings things we did whilst on vacation in New Zealand. (FYI, we didn't go there because of the movies; that was just a pleasant side benefit)

On landing, saw both the Hobbit plane and the Aragorn plane on the runway of the Auckland airport
Dragged my partner on a long hike up Mt. Victoria in Wellington just so we could find the part of the path where Frodo hides from the Black Riders
Visited the Embassy Theatre in downtown Wellington, complete with giant-sized Gollum reaching for a giant-sized Ring
Jet boating on the Dart River, near Paradise, just because it would take us kinda close to the Amon Hen location at Paradise ("See that clump of trees way over there?" says the guide. "That's where Boromir fought the Orcs." Sigh.)
Took picture of the far side of Lake Te Anau, 'cause it's where Frodo and Sam leave the Fellowship
