My first fandom was Kirk/Spock. I was 19 I think, at a Star Trek club that had a zine library, and I found a reference in the front of the zine that you could order K/S from x address and I was like what is this???
I still have piles of zines, including Blake 7 - Avon/Vila was always my OTP. I still reread my favourite fic The Iceman Cometh, by M Fae Glasgow - where Vila totally tops Avon. *sighs nostalgically*
I grew up with Blakes 7 too. And Starsky and Hutch. And I remember watching Brideshead Revisited, which had two men dancing together. Yeah, I was never not a slasher.
I recently bought UFO from an Amazon seller for $14!!!!! I love the concepts and set design but I've had no luck trying to get other people to watch it. For some reason people can't get past the purple hair and net tops. *g*
I saw Martin Shaw in a play at theatre in Perth when I was 15, and my mum asked me if I wanted to wait by the stage door to see if I could get an autograph, but I was too cool. *headdesk* I mostly remember having to rearrange my world view of him to include glasses.
