I can't believe it...
...but I've actually finished the first draft of the Pros novel I've been working on for, oh, far too long. (It's been at least seven years, on and off, and probably longer.)
But it's done! 75,000 plus words and it's done!
Nothing left now but the editing. (With luck, that will take substantially less than seven years to complete.)
And then, of course, I have to figure out what to do with the bastard...

That is quite the accomplishment, especially after bringing a little one into your life to compete with your time.
Congratulations

But hey, I know I can finish a novel now. Which is cool.
Re: Congratulations
The spine of the thing is the same, and the first few scenes have never changed much, but it's certainly gone through an evolution, much as I have. (For a start, I've gone from a childless thirtysomething to a fortysomething mom, which has had a huge impact on how I view the world.) The main change, though, was the B plot, which never worked and which I finally cracked in January, resulting in the wholesale gutting and complete revising of about 20,000 words. And it didn't even hurt that much, which told me it was the right thing to do.

Good luck with it.

I've always been like that with essays, dissertations, stories at school, etc.
But I know other people really enjoy editing (and actually dislike writing).
Good luck with it.
