Gold Star for you and your assistants.

That as a lovely compilation. Well done !

Lots of different scenes I had not seen used in other pros-vids.

A good morning with one of your vids!
I like vids with a story. Very melancholic – but we know the good ending...

Got to be cool!

(Btw: very good quality for only 17MB)

Oh, Bodie. I'd not heard the song before, it's going to be a song for Bodie for me from now on. That was lovely and sad and good.

Very well done indeed.

Everything fit so well.

Lovely.

This is really beautiful. Lovely song and clips and very good clear quality.

Thank you. :)

I enjoyed this very much - everything about it - the scenes you chose, the voice-over lines and the music. Many thanks for sharing.

[identity profile] kiwisue.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 11:00 am (UTC)(link)
I, really liked the subtle way you put the different scenes together, fitting them to the song, shifting moods, a little angsty, feeling of determination & love at the end. Thank you.

[identity profile] schnuffi.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 11:10 am (UTC)(link)
Great vid though I must admit I don't like the song much. The lyrics are very fitting but the way he sings is just... strange. But I still like it. Thanks for sharing.

[identity profile] magenta-blue.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I was wondering why it wouldn't play, and then realised I didn't have quicktime! Doh! Anyway, finally got to see this and it is lovely. So clever to take the words of that song and apply it to the lads, it really works. You've told such a nice angsty story with this, yet for all that there is romance and love. Aw.

It really made me giggle seeing the file is abbreviated to lovesnot though (love snot) - very silly mind I have *g*

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I always try to go beyond the scenes that get re-used so often. Though those scene are irresistible sometimes. (Couldn't resist using Bodie giving Doyle a goose in this one.)

[identity profile] siskiou.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, thank you!

I enjoyed it very much, and while melancholy in parts, I also smiled many times throughout it.
Those looks, saying so much!

Now to find the password that I "think" I have somewhere...

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't resist the angst. But I try to provide a happy ending. *g*

(I've been getting good results with QT files and keeping them mostly under 20 MB.)

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
For an alleged Doyle fan, I do seem to make rather a lot of vids about Bodie. *g* But he's irresistible that way.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I often wondered if I was on crack, attempting this song, but it all worked out in the end.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you. It's one of my fave current songs, and I couldn't resist vidding it to Pros.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I kept agonizing about the voiceovers, especially the one at the end, but I'm glad I kept them. So glad you enjoyed it.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
This wasn't an entirely obvious song, and it was a bit of work getting it to work with the lads, but I persevered. And in the end I don't think it turned out too badly. *g*

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I must admit I don't like the song much.

Oooh, you wound me! Seriously, Kaiser Chiefs are at the top of my current faves and this is my absolutely favourite song by them.

Glad you liked the vid, though. *g*

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It wasn't an obvious song to use, but something about it struck me as so very Bodie. (The angst factor doesn't hurt either.)

(Hmmm, perhaps I should have called the file competition.mov? *g*)

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
While it's an angsty vid, I hope the overall story comes through as hopeful. Bodie will always save his Ray.

Being a Doyle fan is something you clearly share with Bodie!

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
That's no doubt why I love writing and vidding from Bodie's POV. Let's me linger over Doyle a bit. *g*

[identity profile] ancastar.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Oy! I didn't see you'd posted this till the newsletter came out. I love this vid, as you well know. I hope the crowd at Escapade was appropriately enthusiastic, and that you're pleased with the final outcome.

I love the song (Take that, Schnuffi! ;-) ::An blows a big kiss Schnuffi's direction::), and adore the way you worked the storyline in. It's a truly original point of view. Well done, you.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I meant to email you that I was finally posting it, but I spent the weekend struggling with a cold and vid encoding issues.

I am pleased with it (even that final VO *g*) and am glad it's finally out in the wild. I'm just chuffed I could get it to work, 'cause the usual "this vid is never going to come together" agonizing seemed to take longer than usual to disappear with this vid.

[identity profile] shaw012145.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Favourite moments must be preserved, I agree.

[identity profile] solosundance.livejournal.com 2008-03-11 10:01 am (UTC)(link)
Fabulous vid! I love the way you've used facial expressions, and there are so many great ones, from both of them, that say so much. It's a good track - just the right amount of wistfulness without schmaltz and works beautifully for their story. You've really captured Bodie's heartache. Brilliant, thank you!

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-11 11:01 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I'm so glad you think it works. I sometimes wondered if I was insane, trying to vid this song for Pros, but it seemed so Bodie to me that I had to try.

What a lovely vid! I always feel like your vids are telling this entire narrative and do so in a new and fresh way every time.

Thank you!

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! Getting a narrative to flow in a vid is something I definitely concentrate on. So glad you enjoyed it.

[identity profile] callistosh65.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
You always manage a fresh look in your vids, always combine often used clips with slightly diffrent, more unusual ones, to create something entirely new. You got some geat, great looks and facial expressions between them, and you cut it all just brilliantly. Well done to you, and thank you, I thoroughly enjoyed this.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I do make an effort to look at the show with fresh eyes each time I'm making a vid, to find the small moments that can be overlooked but mean a lot. It can be a pain, but it's also exhilarating when you find something you'd never noticed before.

And then again, sometimes you just have to go with the tried and true. *g*

[identity profile] sarren.livejournal.com 2008-04-11 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not usually that interested in Pros vids, probably because I've seen the source material over and over my entire life, but this is awesome. I don't even like the song that much but you've made a fresh and apt use of material and it's really well done.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-04-15 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
I am soooo happy that this worked for you. I think I may be taking a break from vidding Pros for a bit, because it is difficult to find footage that hasn't been overused, but I was rather pleased with how this turned out. It just seemed like such a perfect song for Bodie.
