Adventures in Parenting
The last few days have been, shall we say, challenging.
We woke up Saturday to find Rosalind had thrown up. And she then proceeded to throw up all day, which wasn't fun for any of us. (In between throwing up she was still pretty energetic, which I'm taking as further proof that little though she is, she has the constitution of a horse.)
Sunday, she was a bit off, but clearly recovering.
Then at 3 a.m. Monday, and in spite of the copious handwashing we did on Saturday, the Sweetie and I both woke up and started, you guessed it, throwing up, a state that continued most of the day. I'm just relieved that Ros could go to daycare (the Sweetie managed to take her there in between bouts of ick) 'cause I honestly don't know that we could have looked after her much ourselves. The day was spent almost entirely in bed, in between rounds of running to the bathroom.
At least we both seem to be over the worst of it, though I still feel like I've been run over by a truck.
Next time there's a big round of sick at our house, I'm kindly asking the gods that they stagger the illness so we're not both down at once.

It's only the beginning... You didn't adopt a child, you adopted a petri dish. ;-)

I'm so sorry to hear you've all been sick.
I do hope you get completely well soon.
And I hope the gods listen to you next time.

How are you guys today? Are you getting better? Do you need soup? Put me on speed dial for anything and everything that you need!
PS I'm going out to the back yard right now to slaughter the appropriate animal for the Gods so they stagger the next illness... that being said (and done, in moments) I have to tell you that, in my experience, the Gods rarely listen. They appear to glean great joy from making lives hellish down here....
Hugs of love support and calm stomachs.
