Wow, How Did That Happen?
We seem to have acquired a cat. Or, more accurately, a kitten.
The week my father died, a friend up north found three abandoned kittens in a box. Fortunately, she found them just after they'd been tossed (and there are no words to express my disgust at the fact that someone thought it was okay to throw three kittens someplace where the likeliest alternative was that they would die) and she took them in. Since the SPCA in Parry Sound had recently closed down, she started looking for homes for them. The Sweetie was immediately taken with the one female and suggested we take her. (He claims not to be a cat person, but really, he's just a great big softie.)
And so, just over a month later, Pearl has come to live with us.

She's a tabby, with orangey, butterscotchy markings all over, and a tail that goes butterscotch right at the end. And she's so far pretty calm and relaxed and really great with Rosalind, even when Ros is being a bit rough. (We're slowly teaching Rosalind to be gentle with the kitty kat, but in the meantime we have to watch her like a hawk with Pearl.)
Pearl trying to figure out what that flashy thing I'm holding is.

Yeah, the Sweetie's totally not a cat person. Nope, not at all.
