Couldn't Resist
1) What is the movie that scared you the most? (Notice I didn’t say the scariest movie.) Does it scare you still?
The Wizard of Oz. That darn hourglass with the red sand had me hiding under my theatre seat when I was six. Now it only amuses me. Second place would go to Fiddler on the Roof. The attack by the Cossacks completely traumatized me and still makes me a tad uncomfortable. Most recently, the Japanese film Ju-On (a very creepy ghost story) freaked me out at this year's film fest so badly that I didn't go to bed for the next two nights until my partner got home from his midnight screenings. This amuses my friends no end.
2) What is the tv show or episode that scared you the most? Does it scare you still?
My first memory of watching tv is of running screaming out of the living room when the red shirt gets a spear in the chest in the Star Trek episode Galileo Seven. Now that scene just amuses the hell out of me.
3) Do you watch horror movies/tv shows or avoid them? Why?
It depends. I avoid most horror movies, if they're just splatter and gore. But if they've got humour, I'm right there. I can't get enough of the Evil Dead movies or PJ's Brain Dead.
4) What is the best “Very Special Halloween” episode of all time? Why?
Hmm, maybe the vampire X-Files ep where Scully and Mulder disagree over the story, Rashomon style. 'Cause I like the humour, and vampires are fun.
5) You have an unlimited budget and the best costumers and makeup people from Hollywood to help you, who or what do you dress as for Halloween?
Boromir, even though I'm more Hobbit-sized. Next choice would be a musketeer. Basically, any costume involving a sword.
