I've already told you how much I like the tension you've been able to create here and the way you're sensitive to the nuances of the clips you've chosen--eye movement, the turn of a head, a gesture. You take advantage of each of those moments and it works like gangbusters. Great vid.

I know we've talked about this quite a bit *g* but I just wanted to say again what a great job you've done of pulling the subtext to the foreground where everyone can see it. Just really lovely edits too like the sudden jarring of Holmes' facial expression stood over that jar of flies that matches perfectly to that extra note in the song.

Not in the fandom, though I've seen the movie and quite a few of the vids out there - but this, this is by far the best one I've seen. You've cut so perfectly to the song, making the most of every eyebrow tilt, every glance, every nuance. Amazing how you've separated out so many micro moments, and yet seamlessly strung them together to bring this great relationship front and centre. I just loved this!

Oh, wow. Just had to comment again! The moment at, I think 2:09 - when you hard-cut in that scene of W in his bed (yes, fellow h'c'er, thank you very much, now what were we saying) to that chilling piano chord - it's just a - a gut-punch, it's so powerful. You take these two powerful moments and make thems tronger, make them speak, really. And in the end, that glance, 3:07 I think, W glances down, as thouhg he's *realizing* something, and H looks back, and you put that to "It will be worth it..."!!!!

I'm glad I'm not alone in liking that hard cut to Watson. Though his shirtlessness certainly doesn't hurt, there's more to the moment than that. It's his complete vulnerability, and the way Holmes is there to look after him. (Yep, I'm a sucker for h/c.)

I'm also pleased to introduce you to the song. Depeche Mode have been a favourite of mine since high school, which is a ridiculously long time ago now. *g*

OK, so jsut watched the movie.

Your video totally spoiled it for me! I prefer it to the movie, very, very much. It's just - it's passionate, it *burns*. (In fairness, I'm half-English, and the movie's Britfail partially ruined it for me!) I truly loved it. Vid: Rewatch. Movie? ...not so much!

I have to admit to skewing the footage I used in a very definite way. The angsty stuff is in there, but there's also the goofy stuff, and the dodgy plot.

That said, I have to say I love the movie far more than is healthy. Even including RDJ's dodgy accent. (One of our local rep cinemas is showing it tomorrow, and I'm totally planning on seeing it, double billed with Young Victoria. Victorian England FTW!
