What an interesting place! I love the warriors (and I've found that every place, no matter what the country, has a gift shop.) I'd heard about the smog being a real problem. I hope it wasn't personally for you.

And the village! That must really have been a unique experience. But I think you do get a more personal experience when you stay in a place that's not just one of the chains.
