The Legume and the Sweetie

Another in a series of posts about why my sweetie rocks.  Here's the email I just got from him:

Forgot to mention this on the phone: The Star reports that both Viggo and Bean will be attending this year's TIFF (that would be the Toronto International Film Festival). You may begin the stalking plans now.

(As an aside, isn't that an awesome name for a team: Viggo and The Bean. They could fight crime, hang out in pubs, make crazy art together, live life as it was meant to be led, etc.)

Yes, I mentioned Sean Bean again. Agh.

Yes, I've infected his brain. Heh.

*snicker* I've infected my husband's, too. Last night I was snapping green beans and one of them got away from me, and I called out "Beware the flying bean!" And Josh sticks his head out of the kitchen and casually says, "I thought he was afraid to fly?" *giggles hysterically* And then there was the comment about the has-bean, to which he responded, "No, if I was a has-Bean, you'd be happy!"

Don't you love it when our spouses join us in our insanity? *grin*

I'd love to meet your sweetie some day. And of course, hang with you some more.

LOL! That's great!

Mine, on the other hand, is utterly baffled by all of this, though he tries desperately to understand. He has a tendency to look at me bewilderedly while saying things like, "but I don't think they're supposed to be gay on the show..."!! Subtext, I tell him, subtext, but he just looks more bewildered.

Once we were out with another fannish friend and her husband, and she and I were talking about Ray Kowalski. He (who's a lawyer) overheard a bit and said, "oh, are you talking about Fulbright and Jaworski?" - which is a big NY law firm. We almost fell out of our chairs laughing hysterically.

Still, he's totally accepting and supportive of my proclivities, so I can't complain!!

Either you have him very well trained or he knows you far too well. Both could be accurate. ;)

It's so much fun when they join us in our weirdness :-)

Mine keeps pointing out slash moments on shows and as agreed to go to TorontoTrek next summer with me since Michael Shanks is going to be there :-)

Okay, I giggled even harder at this than my guy's original email. My co-workers obviously now know I'm completely deranged.

I'd love to meet your guy too. And one of the main reasons I'm sad about not doing VVC or BASCon this year is not getting to hang with you. Ah well, maybe the sprog will be up for a trip to the Bay area.

He's a nut, but he's my nut.

Accepting and supportive is good. I'm just glad mine is also an enabler. *g*

I think it's a combination of both, plus he came this way. (He was going to see gay movies by himself long before I met him, so getting him into the slash subtext was pretty darn easy.)

Sounds like your guy and mine would get along.

And if you're coming to TTrek, we totally have to get together!

Yes, bring the sprog too! Babies/toddlers love the Bay Area - I speak from personal experience (being a toddler myself living here). :-)

It would be fun and I'd love to see you and meet your Hubby ;-)

*nodnod* Absolutely.
