Hopefulness (In which whinging abounds...)
My computer has been completely stuffed since February. No one can figure out what's wrong. Repair shops have looked at it. Apple headquarters has had it twice. And no one has been able to reproduce the errors I get when I get it back.
Well, Apple finally had the drives fail on them like they've been failing for me the last four god damned months. They've replaced the logic board. For the second time.
I'm sort of, kind of hopeful that they may have fixed the problem this time. Or at least, if it goes down again, they won't be treating me like a crazy lady who's got a perfectly fine G4 but can't seem to get it to work fine. (I teach computers for a living, you putzes. I can rebuild this machine in my sleep, but it's NOT WORKING.)
And if I do actually have a working machine, that might mean that I can get a new vid or two done in time for VividCon. Hell, I'd just like to be able to make a dent in the stack of vid ideas that keep coming to me but I haven't been able to work on.
So, yeah, maybe hopefulness is beginning to win out over the resignation and anger. (And I'm sure my long-suffering partner is crossing his fingers that I soon won't be hijacking his computer every night.)
