That Deed Guy

I've managed to download the first two eps of the new season of Judge John Deed and have successfully managed to turn the suckers into DVDs. If anyone's in need of a Martin fix, comment or drop me a line and I'll pass along the disks.

no need for copies, thankyou - just wanted to squee loudly at the return of the judge to UK TV... *SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!*

SQUEE indeed!

Deed drives me crazy, and yet I love him so.

I have yet to download part 2, but we burned a copy of the first ep, and noticed a couple of 'jumps' - not long, but enough to miss a few words of dialogue. Did you get the same, or is yours error free? (we're wondering if it was the disc we burned or something about the multi-part download that was the problem).

I've only tested a few random scenes. Let me know what time you found the problem at and I'll take a look.

Hey - my source fell through (waah!), any chance I could prevail on you one more time?

No problem. I'm having a hell of a week, but I'll try and get the first batch burned and off by Friday. And I'm going to try to download the next ones over the weekend.

Hi,
I'm new to lj, but not new to Pros, MediaWestCon or your great music vids. I've been hoping to find a safe site to download anything with Martin Shaw. I've got the Pros dvds, but I'm lusting after his other telly appearances and films. I'd really appreciate any info you could share with me.

I'm not really a downloading guru, so the only place I can suggest is uknova.com. You'll have to be persistent to get a membership, and the only stuff of Martin's they have at the moment is Judge John Deed.

Otherwise, what I've done is get a multi-region DVD player and ordered a lot of stuff from Amazon.co.uk.

Thanks for the info. I have a dvd player that will play region 2. I'll check out what they have at Amazon UK

I've cast about, and there's actually more stuff of Martin's on Region 1 than Region 2. Here's a list:

Region 1
  • Macbeth
  • The Golden Voyage of Sinbad
  • The Last Place on Earth
  • The Murder Room
  • Death in Holy Orders
  • The Scarlet Pimpernel (1999 version)
  • The New Avengers (the episode Obsession from the 1977 block, also with Lewis Collins)
  • The Duchess of Duke Street (showed up in the episode "Family Matters" as Louisa's disreputable brother)

    Region 2
  • Beasts (in the "Buddy Boy" episode)
  • Cream in My Coffee (available on the "Dennis Potter at London Weekend Television" set)

I've seen all the region 1 stuff, and with the exception of the Duchess ep, it's all pretty good. I've not seen the Region 2 stuff, though, so I can't recommend it.

Fantastic! Thanks for the info. I've seen a few of these once, but I'd love to see them again. Some I've never seen. Did you find them in Amazon UK?

I think I tweaked my dvd player to play all regions. I've had no problem with the pros dvds.

    I really appreciate your help.

The region 1 disks you can get through amazon.com. (Or amazon.ca if, like me, you're in Canada) The region2 ones you can get through amazon.co.uk.

D'oh. I forgot Judge John Deed for the region 2/amazon.co.uk list. Season 1 is out and season 2 will be out in a week or two.
