GIP and Fannish Endeavour

First of all, GIP! I've been wanting another icon of the lads together, and found this image in a screen cap I'd done for the Pros Slash Proliferation Challenge. (Have I mentioned how much I love Doyle's arms here? Not to mention Bodie's svelte frame. Yum.)

Second, in compensation for my stellar work as a mom, and by virtue of tomorrow being a stat holiday here in Canuck land, my Sweetie is giving me a day to concentrate on writing whilst he looks after the little girl. I'm definitely looking forward to it. I'm going to try to wrestle to the ground the bloody story that's been giving me grief for far too long. (It was supposed to be a short little thing that would take no effort at all and it's been a freaking bear to settle on a structure for the bastard. I'm this far from tossing out a chunk of bits I rather like 'cause I think it might work better without them. Sigh.)

If I get a good amount done on that story, there's always the Pros novel to take a crack at. I've been mulling it over for the last few weeks and think I've finally figured out how to integrate Doyle into it the overall narrative better. (And how I ended up writing a Bodie-centric novel, I'll never know...)

And then there's the Ultraviolet vid I've had half started for far too long now. The clips are all capped, I've got a few shots set in, so perhaps I can get a bit of work done on it. Have I mentioned the song is six and a half minutes long? And it's a trip hop number with really fast beats? And it's probably going to kill me? (Yeah, there's a reason several other vids have jumped over it in the queue.)

Oh nice icon! I adore those pics too, those arms, those muscles, and just look at Bodie, all taut and trim... *sighs happily* I've been lusting after more lads-together icons too - there's a plethora of them-separate ones, and ones-with-writing, but not so many of just them...

With you on the icon's being made of the greatest deliciousness. I think it's rather cute that MS is sort of oh-so-casually pushing against his bicep to make it stand out just a little more! But yes, they are gorgeous in this .... ::looks back up again. And again. Yum::

Yeah, he's doing the bicep pushing thing. But at that point he didn't really have to. His arms were totally ripped without any help.

I've got about a hundred pages of the novel done. Fit in the Doyle scenes and come up with a denouement and the puppy is done. ('Course, I won't tell you how many years it's taken to get me this far.)

Good for you! I am SO in favor of a day to yourself, free of all the mommystuff. Satisfying as childrearing can be (in the long run, and you have to keep the long run in view amidst the frustrations of the short run) it's important to keep that little bit of yourself, and your own interests, active and alive. I didn't really do that while my kids were around, so now that I and they are all grown up, it's coming as a bit of a shock to them that I have interests and abilities that they were totally unaware of. Which is actually kind of fun, too.

Whilst I know I won't have nearly the time to maintain my own interests, I'm determined to carve out a bit of time for myself every now and then. The Sweetie and I give ourselves one evening off a week to see a movie, go out with friends or whatever, which has been nice. And we're determined to see at least a few films each at the Toronto film fest this year, if not nearly our 30 to 40 film usual.

Yay for you! Good luck with the writing day. Even if all you do is think a bit more, it'll be all to the good. If you get some actual writing done, so much the better! But, mostly, it'll be good to concentrate, guilt-free, on your own interests for a day.

I'm going to settle on a final structure for this puppy if it kills me. And hopefully get some of the next scenes written. (The optimistic part of me insists that I can get most of it done, but the rest of me is trying not to succumb to that delusion.)

Well, it was story as opposed to stories and the vids didn't get touched, but it was a good day. (Got to finish this freaking story so I can get back to work on the novel.)
