Adventures in Parenting

We had too much fun while getting Ros ready for bed tonight. She was playing on our bed where I'd dumped a bunch of my swag from MW, including a Sean Bean DVD the lovely [livejournal.com profile] twistnboo had obtained for me. The following exchange happened as we tried to get Ros off our bed and into her bedroom. It helps if you realize that the Sweetie is, shall we say, not the world's biggest Sean Bean fan.

Sweetie: Don't wreck mommy's Sean Bean DVD.
Rosalind: Sean Bean!
Me: Did you notice she can say Sean Bean?
Rosalind: Sean Bean! Sean Bean! Sean Bean!
Sweetie: Can you say "I love Sean Bean"?
Rosalind: I love Sean Bean.
Sweetie: What am I doing? Can you say "Sean Bean is a doofus"?
Rosalind: Doofus!

The Sweetie and I were killing ourselves laughing the whole time, and Ros thought it was pretty funny too.

ROTFL! That's just too funny. Attagirl, Ros!

I'm training her up right. (I'm planning a viewing of Tom and Thomas as soon as she's old enough.) We're sooo going to torment the Sweetie. *g*

LOL!! I love the way littlies pick up on new words, then have to say them over and over. You'll have to get rid of the 'doofus' bit though.

You have to be just so careful of what you do say, as they can hear and repeat some rather embarrassing things at times.

If doofus is the worst thing she picks up from us, I'll be happy.

ROTFLMAO! That is so made of WIN. :)))

If I have my way, she'll be a good little fangirl. *g*

Love it! The way kids pick things up and then just say them over and over, with such delight..hee!

Her complete glee when she'd start giggling between Sean Beans was far too much fun to watch.

Awwww, that is just so utterly lovely.

You have trained her well.

It's more like she's got us trained. But that's okay. *g*

*Smiles*

That reminds me of a certain little four legged member of our household ;-)

Puppies and small children have a lot in common. *g*

How true!

Very, very funny. I remember some of the things my kids used to say, especially when they'd try to learn song lyrics and didn't get it quite right.

Ask me about "my sack of fries."

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, I'll bite. "Sack of fries"?

The upside of all this is that Ros can now successfully identify the Boromir portrait I've got as Sean Bean. Don is relieved now that he's no longer being labelled as the Bean.
