I just found out I've made it through to the first round of interviews for a learning developer position. And I've got till Tuesday to put together a portfolio that'll prove I can produce online learning.

I've spent all evening installing Windows and Office on my shiny new Mac laptop. Now I get to spend the weekend redoing one of my online tutorials without all that pesky branding from my previous employer. And this on top of ballet lessons, Mandarin lessons, the buying of a big girl bed (the Sweetie accidentally cracked the railing on the toddler bed Ros was rapidly outgrowing anyway), and play dates.

Crikey!

It's late-ish and I'm nursing a sinus headache as it snows (snows! Hey, this is the South) outdoors and I read ballet lessons, Mandarin and coupled with your user pic I thought "how very Mrs. Peel of you." *g*

Sodding week, indeed. Before I scored the interview, every bloody thing I did yesterday didn't go as planned, and took three times as long as I'd have liked.

I'll take the Mrs. Peel comparison, though I have to admit that the ballet lessons are strictly for the little girl, not me. The whole family is learning Mandarin, though.

(I should have worked on the damn learning portfolio several weeks ago, but I kept thinking it would be ages before I got an interview that would need one. ::sigh::)

Edited because while Hammond looks as crazy as I feel, he looks a bit too cheerful about it. :-/

Ah, the big girl bed. What a big step. We bought Paige one last year, but used a temporary rail on it to keep her from falling out. Paige took to it immediately.

Weird thing is she never slept with blankets or a pillow before in the crib. Wouldn't keep the blanket on. As soon as she transitioned to the bed she always had to be covered up with a blanket.

Ros has been in the toddler bed for a year, and did well immediately. The falling out of the proper big girl bed is a bit worrying. Though I think we might take my mom's low tech approach of just putting a chair beside the bed.

Ros would always kick off her blankets, but in the last two weeks she now wakes us up two or three times a night to put them back on again.
