Adventures in Fannish Parenting

So yesterday before we head off to the annual Chinese New Year banquet, I'm having a coffee in my Close Quarters mug complete with pictures of the lads. Ros takes an interest.

Ros: Who's that?
Me: Bodie
Ros: And who's that?
Me: Doyle.

She then runs around the house for ten minutes yelling "Bodie and Doyle!"

I'm so proud. *g*

(I can't wait until she's older and I can actually rope her into watching Pros.)

Y'know, Daughter knows from Bodie and Doyle from my rotating wallpapers. *flashes on mental image of room w/ walls that flip around* I should hog-tie her and have her watch some Professionals with me.

Knowing her though, she'd just take the piss at the clothes and hairstyles.

Ros has definitely noticed the lads on my computer. She saw them on my keychain a few months ago (why, yes, I am obsessed, why do you ask? *g*) and said "Are those the boys from your computer?" When she starts really noticing the slash art in the corner beside my desk, I'm in trouble.

By the time Ros is old enough to watch the show, she'll probably take the piss at the clothes too. Unless styles have rotated back to the '70s. ::shudder::

I do try my best. *g*

Yeah, you *claim* it's because of a mug but really her room is plastered with pictures of Doyle... and a few of Bodie of course. She probably knew their names before she could say "mummy." *g*

She's just starting to notice the lads all over the house. However, she's known about Boromir and Aragorn practically since she was a baby. (Of course, she used to think Boromir was Daddy. *g*

She's a fangirling natural! I was proud as anything when my five-year-old goddaughter (now nearly seven) said that the men kissing on my mobile phone screen (see icon!) must love each other very much. Yes...yes they do. *g*

Ros is already well on her way. She has a huge crush on the two very nice gay men who live next door.

:) You gotta ensure that Pros lives on!

Absolutely! If you can't pass on your passions to the next generation, what can you do?

*beams* Fannish parenting FTW!

My nieces (6 & 3 years) know Rodney McKay is the smartest man on this planet:D

Clearly your nieces have been taught well. *g*
