Vid: Halo (Holmes/Watson)
Title: Halo
Fandom: Sherlock Holmes (Need I say it's slash?)
Length: 3:11
Music: Halo by Depeche Mode
Notes: Thanks to
draycevixen, for pushing me towards vidding Holmes to Depeche Mode, and giving fab suggestions for the parts I just couldn't crack, and to
ancastar for taking a look, even though she hadn't seen the movie yet, and keeping the POV clear.

I've already told you how much I like the tension you've been able to create here and the way you're sensitive to the nuances of the clips you've chosen--eye movement, the turn of a head, a gesture. You take advantage of each of those moments and it works like gangbusters. Great vid.
Fingers crossed that You Tube continues to cooperate.

You have indeed. *g*
I'm glad you liked it, and very glad you pushed me to straighten out the POV issues.

Yay, it's posted! *twirls you*
I know we've talked about this quite a bit *g* but I just wanted to say again what a great job you've done of pulling the subtext to the foreground where everyone can see it. Just really lovely edits too like the sudden jarring of Holmes' facial expression stood over that jar of flies that matches perfectly to that extra note in the song.
Thanks, petal! ♥

Can I just say my personal favourite cut is to Watson in his hospital bed. What? It's got nothing to do with the fact that he's shirtless. (Okay, maybe just a bit. *g*)

Also, as an old Pros fan, am amused by the drooling over Watson's and Doyle's chest hair. ("What happens if someone spills beer down my shirt?" "The hair on your chest will stand on end.")

Drooling? Nooooo... scientific research, yes research. Data must be collected... and we were drooling over Father Jacob's chest hair too. *g*

I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the vid. I'm particularly fond of the sequence with Holmes playing violin myself. I love that shot, and was hoping to use it well.

You and me both. I kept some of the really good shots back to make sure I had something left for the ending. But it all worked out in the end. *g*

You manage to put up front what I see watching the movie: feelings, emotions, all that subtle gestures and glances...
Such a wonderful, wonderful video! I love it! Oh, I already told you that... but it is true, so there: I LOVE IT! ♥
Thanks a lot!

Sorry for not commenting sooner - Drayce
pimped itsupplied a linky yesterday in the wee small hours, and I came and saw and dribbled and then had to go and earn an honest crust... but anyway, it's gorgeous - I totally forgot I was watching a fanvid and was vaguely put out when it ended waaay too soon. Wonderful, ta muchly.no subject

Your video totally spoiled it for me! I prefer it to the movie, very, very much. It's just - it's passionate, it *burns*. (In fairness, I'm half-English, and the movie's Britfail partially ruined it for me!) I truly loved it. Vid: Rewatch. Movie? ...not so much!

I have to admit to skewing the footage I used in a very definite way. The angsty stuff is in there, but there's also the goofy stuff, and the dodgy plot.
That said, I have to say I love the movie far more than is healthy. Even including RDJ's dodgy accent. (One of our local rep cinemas is showing it tomorrow, and I'm totally planning on seeing it, double billed with Young Victoria. Victorian England FTW!
