A Better Day

Thanks to everyone who commented on my post yesterday. I'll respond to your comments soon.

In the meantime, today was a better day than yesterday.

The horrific headache that showed up halfway through my cold and had flattened me for the better part of three days has receded, to the point where I'm nearly giddy at the lack of pain. (It was awesome! My acupuncturist placed some of the most painful needles tonight--on the side of my big toes, behind my ears, through the cartilage of my ears--and they didn't hurt a bit. She kept asking "Ho tong"? (Big pain?) I kept saying "Moh man tai." (No problem.) And I totally meant it.)

After I got home, the Sweetie and I watched the finale of Glee. (How can a show about a show choir nearly make me cry? Three times in one episode?!)

And top to it all off, I managed to write nearly 500 words on the Big Bang story. (They may not all be words I keep, but it's starting to come together. I may not punk out on my own BB after all.) I'm closing in on 3,000 words. Not nearly enough, but about 2,500 words more than I had last week.

I cry at *daytime* TV shows at the drop of a hat lol - bizarre, as I don't cry in normal life as a rule!

Glad to hear you're starting to feel better - I've been fighting off the complications of a bad cold for almost 3 weeks now, and it is driving me batty!

Finally - BIG w00t on 500 words :D

I am, like my mom, a pretty tough cookie most of the time. But I do cry at the most ridiculous things. Glee's done it to me two out of the last three episodes. Crazy.

You have my sympathies on the cold. I think I'm finally over the worst of it, but the headache was possibly the worst of its kind I've ever had. And I regularly get migraines.

Definitely a Big Woot on the 500 words. Tonight, I aim for 1,000!

YAY for headache receding. HOnestly the acupuncture sounds painful to ME, but hey, if it works, it works! \o/

Do not mention BB story writing. *stares forlornly at blank screen* We do not speak of this. (although congrats on getting some writing done!)

Acupuncture is not for everyone. But it's the one thing that's managed to eliminate my neck and back pain, and it works miracles for migraines.

I shall try not to flaunt the BB progress. But it's just nice to be moving on it again. I've had weeks of doing nothing but open file, move a couple of words around, close file. Not to mention that I still hadn't really settled on which of three stories to write. I've picked what will no doubt be the longest, but it's the one my muse seemed keenest on, and who am I to argue.

A big YES to acupuncture for migraines!
It helped my mom, who was so not a believer!

And it's so good to hear about the Pros BB!

I'm very glad it helped your mom. I kept trying to get my dad to try it--he was in constant, crippling pain his last few years--but he never went for it. But I'm a big advocate for it, if you're the sort of person who thinks they can do it. (Staying still whilst someone sticks needles, even really skinny ones, into sensitive bits of your body is, like I said, not for everyone.)

I'm getting quite pumped about the BB story. Finally. *g*

Thanks! I think I'm over the worst. Of everything.
