Livid and Enraged

I am thoroughly disgusted with our police force, and the politicians who are apparently falling all over themselves to justify this sort of behaviour.

It's a good thing I didn't see any police today, because I was determined to go up to one and tell them how thoroughly I have lost faith in them. And given the crap going on, it would probably be even odds for whether I was arrested.

And here's a link to a press conference of a freelance reporter who was beaten by police, arrested, and thrown into the temporary detention facility they set up not ten minutes from my house, where he talks about the appalling conditions in the facility, and the way to police were bald-facedly attempting to intimidate protesters from using their right to free speech.

This was worse then when they set the army on Quebec during the 70's. At least at the time they debated putting in Martial Law in the house. This law that they brought out and enforced was all done in secrecy and passed without any debate at all.

When did we become a dictatorship?

McGuinty just lost my vote for the provincial election and at I know a lot of people who are doing the same.

I'm so angry and I don't even live in Toronto!

I'm thoroughly pissed at all our leaders. McGuinty and his secret laws. David Miller, apparently losing his balls and giving the standard "I stand behind our police" speech. At least one of the mayoral candidates, who's also giving the police the thumbs up.

And let us not speak of Stephen Fucking Harper, the fuckwit who thought staging this useless photo op would be such a peachy keen idea. Twat.

I've been shaking my head ever since they announced they applied this "Public Works Act" to a frigging fence.

Did you read my comment in my journal from Saturday about how if you build it they will riot. Stupidity. All of it.

How did the protest at Police HQ tonight go? I saw some live footage tonight before supper but haven't turned the tv back on since.

I really hope McGuinty goes down over this, except for the fact that it means the Conservatives would probably win.

I saw your post, but was to livid to respond coherently. I still am livid.

And I'm sort of avoiding info on the anti-police protest, on account of I think I might have a stroke if I get any angrier. And if one more mayoral candidate comes out on the side of the police, I'm going to spit.

Okay, I'm watching and I'm at a loss - a group of people peacefully singing the Canadian natioınal anthem warrant that many riot police? And then the four that sat down got what, hauled up by all of them or something? What the hell, Canada? seriously, what the hell??

And our police chief is still saying he'll defend his officers no matter what.

Twat.

This is what my tax money goes to??!?!

I've been livid about the whole G8 circus from the start, and this just confirms my opinion.

Livid about covers it.

If I didn't have a little girl to look after, I'd have gone to the anti-cop rally last night.
