Marry, Shag, Cliff

I could resist a round of marry, shag, cliff, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] draycevixen. The cruel woman gave me Doyle, Illya and Aragorn.

Wry sense of humour, knows his way around a gun, science geek, and if The Suburban Affair is to be believed, knows how to do housework. I'm thinking Illya is the best marriage material. Plus, the gorgeousness doesn't hurt.

Doyle is definitely the one for shagging. I mean, look at him: sex on a freaking stick.

That leaves poor Aragorn for the cliff. But then, they threw him off a cliff in the movies and he managed to survive. Those scruffy rangers are hard to kill.

(Drayce, I'm just glad you didn't give me Boromir. I'd never have been able to cliff 'im.)

Rats! The problem with delving in to a mate's other fandoms to find someone for this challenge is that you always end up guessing which one to pick. I guessed Aragorn, apparently I should have guessed Boromir. *g*

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
If you could have seen my shelves, you would have known. The ratio of dodgy Sean Bean movies to dodgy Viggo Mortensen movies is rather heavily weighted to the Bean.

And even as a kid, Boromir was the one I loved in the books.

Yes, I'm weird. Your point?

[identity profile] draycevixen.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 02:51 am (UTC)(link)

Nope, not weird, you just like the ones with a dodgier past... erm... present, yeah. *g*

See, it's a wonder that you prefer Doyle to Bodie.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Really, given my affection for bad boys and SAS memoirs, Bodie should totally be my favourite. And I do prefer to write his POV. But there's something about the sum of Doyle's physical imperfections that just does it for me.

[identity profile] draycevixen.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 03:19 am (UTC)(link)

Doyle's physical imperfections?

I really need to get my eyes checked...

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
You know. The smashed cheekbone. The chipped tooth. The too skinny legs and too broad chest.

I've always gone for striking men with interesting physical flaws. Bodie's a bit too good looking for my taste.

[identity profile] draycevixen.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 03:29 am (UTC)(link)

His face always makes me think of Renaissance paintings, a period of art that is on my personal list of truly beautiful things.

But then I'm very grateful that LC were not making his way as a beginning actor now else they would have fixed his eyebrows and taught him to rein back on the facial expressions that are often endearingly goofy. Without those things he be far too pretty for my tastes.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Doyle has a very Renaissance look. There's a Botticelli portrait of a young man in the NG in London that is totally Doyle. But shoot him from the wrong angle or in the wrong light and the beauty disappears and you get some very interesting harshness.

Both of them would probably have been drastically cleaned up if they were starting out now. And not for the better. Though Brit actors still seem to be allowed to vary more from the traditionally handsome ideal than their American counterparts.

[identity profile] draycevixen.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 03:50 am (UTC)(link)

I'm not a big fan, well, not a fan at all of the American handsome ideal. It's like I recognize why people think the Winchesters are pretty but it doesn't draw my eye.

I tend to prefer something a little more off kilter.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 10:15 am (UTC)(link)
Off kilter is good. I love off kilter. And the American handsome ideal tends more to repel me than attract. It was all that getting bullied by the "good-looking", popular kids, no doubt.

I like SPN and the Winchesters, but am not head over heels with either of them. It took a certain, not entirely traditionally handsome angel showing up on the show for me to go "Ah, that's more like it!"

I have many Cas fans and devotees of Misha Collins on my flist. *g* Unfortunately, he looks too much like an ex-boyfriend of mine.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I can see the ex-boyfriend thing being a deal killer. Although apparently it wasn't for me. (The Sweetie bears an uncanny resemblance to a rather bad grad school ex of mine, but I didn't hold it against him. *g*)

[identity profile] draycevixen.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)

I think such things can be overcome if you meet the person because then you get to see how different they are, like your sweetie, despite the physical resemblance.

With Misha Collins, I only have his physical appearance to go on and due to the uncanny resemblance... well, no. His name was Mike Cooper btw. Yes, a little too close. *g*

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
His name was Mike Cooper btw.

Oh. My. God. That is a little...freaky.

[identity profile] gritsinmisery.livejournal.com 2010-09-28 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I heartily approve of this ranking.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
That is because you have impeccable taste. *g*

[identity profile] gritsinmisery.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Well, there is that... *looks down modestly, buffs nails on chest*

[identity profile] sc-fossil.livejournal.com 2010-09-28 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! Good work! I think I'd have to agree with you on these picks.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
It's not that I don't love Aragorn. But he just can't compete with Illya or Doyle. *g*

[identity profile] saintvic.livejournal.com 2010-09-28 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
See I had sensible comments well as much as I ever have sensible comments but that first picture has melted me into a puddle of goo.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Mmmmm, wet!Illya icon.

Now what were you saying?

[identity profile] togsos.livejournal.com 2010-09-28 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep these are sage choices, i would imagine Aragorn smells weird so off the cliff with him!

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Aragorn is definitely the least well-groomed. *g*

[identity profile] norfolkdumpling.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Excellent choices, all. I'm not usually a fan of the blondies, but Illya gets me every time. And that photo is...well... *drifts off*

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think I prejudge on hair colour, generally. But Illya is rather adorable. And the smart and snarky seal the package for me.

[identity profile] shayheyred.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
I'd want to shag Aragorn if he ever washed his hair.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Aragorn could definitely stand to use some product. *g*

[identity profile] partners4life.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know I think I would have married Doyle and shagged Illya. I think Doyle would be handy around the house. :)

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
It was a tough choice, and it could totally have gone either way.

Aragorn was always going to get the cliff, though. Poor lad.
