What I Did on My Lunch Hour
I've been wanting to cut my hair short again for ages, but since my old stylist disappeared into whatever black hole stylists disappear in, and I wasn't absolutely thrilled with the replacement dude a friend recommended, I've been holding off. But someone at work goes to a salon mere blocks from the office and got a really nice cut, so I thought I'd give her gal a try.
I'm so glad I did, and not just because I can pull out this icon again.
Here's the before picture:

And here's the after.

The long hair was fun while it lasted, but I have to say I'm happy short-haired me is back. It feels utterly awesome! And I really like the new stylist. Like my much missed previous stylist, she's a funky hipster chick with piercings and tattoos, and just a nice person on top of it. So, hoorah for the new haircut!

Well hair that short is bloody brilliant looking on you so how great is that? *twirls you*
I've cut my hair off that short a few times despite the fact that is looks awful on me (curly hair/melon head)just because it feels so good.

BTW, it's been a hectic few weeks, but I've been meaning to comment on your journal and offer my virtual hugs for the family trauma you've had the last little while.

*hugs* Thank you, really - that means a lot! It's been quite tough but, you know, getting through it. :) And please, don't worry - I understand completely how life can just get too busy for anything else! ;) Thank you for thinking of me though - like I said, it means a lot to me!

Ros liked the look. The Sweetie, however, is still processing it.

The short hair looks fabulous on you - you've got the right shape face for it and it really suits you. It looks so pretty ♥

(And I will try to look at this properly in a few hours...)

I held out with the long hair for as long as I could, because I knew I would never grow it out again. But when it stopped being fun and became mostly irksome, that's when I knew I had to chop it off.

I have very long hair which is a bugger in the heat but easier to tie back for work. I wear a long ponytail and sooner or later one or more people in all the departments I've worked in have developed habits of coming up to me and tugging it like a bell-pull when they want something *g* (I like it, 'tis affectionate *g*)

Tying back long hair definitely makes it easier to handle--when mine got really long this winter I loved putting it in braid, just 'cause I could--and I love the idea of your co-workers using your pony-tail as a bell pull to get your attention. 'Tis definitely affectionate. *g*

I can only just get away with the long. And I'm hopeless at doing anything with it so it ends up either going free and getting in my face, or getting tossed up in a cursory, and usually lopsided, pony tail. Short is soooo much better. *g*
life is nicer with a good coiffeur, innit? :D
Yes! Yes it is! :D
