The Home Stretch
I've been putting a concerted effort into finishing my Pros Big Bang story. (Yes, the one that was officially due a week ago. Fortunately, I've pulled the last posting date, at the end of October, so I've got a wee bit of time to go.)
I've been working on the climactic scene all week, and it has been like pulling teeth to write it. Like each word was a drop of blood dripped painfully onto the keyboard. Like I've completely forgotten how to write.
But last night I finally finished the last bit of that scene, and today I started into the denouement, and look at the result:

This is now officially the second longest story I've ever written. Which is funny, because when I started it I was worried I couldn't get more than 12,000 words out of the concept.
Two scenes and a bit to go, and I'm hoping it's starting to flow a bit better now. Maybe I'll even finish by the end of the weekend. Maybe. (Since we're doing an adoptive parent workshop tonight, and Ros is attending a playgroup for adopted kids tomorrow morning, and then there's the usual shopping, laundry, cleaning, meals, etc. to deal with, this is probably a false hope. But it could happen!)
In the meantime, the Big Bang is now live!
sc_fossil posted the first story today, and it looks to be a cracking one.

You say tomato...
As long as you end up with a great marinara, who cares? *g*

My advice would be: abandon laundry, cleaning and shopping and live on takeaway, but I dare say when one has a child that becomes illegal or something *g*
I have obviously never done this when busy, or at least, I managed to clean up again before Flatmate #1 got back from holiday... *g*no subject
I look fondly back on the days when I could abandon laundry, cleaning, etc. to meet a zine deadline or finish a vid. Or at least I'd throw said chores in the Sweetie's direction. But yes, having a small child does rather cramp one's style when it comes to these matters. ;-)

I'd be more than happy to beta, send it on over! ♥

Expect something Tuesday-ish. (The plan is one scene tonight, one scene tomorrow, and then done!)
