So. Tired
It has been a crazy week.
I have helped organize the
takethatslash Big Bang, attended a master class on Hitchcock's Notorious with Guillermo Del Toro, taken Ros to her Tae Kwan Do class, done two TKD classes myself, gone to the coaches meeting for Ros' soccer club, attempted to get hold of all the parents on my team's roster, had a friend over for dinner, taken Ros for her six month eye checkup, driven north to my mom's, taken a trunkload of stuff from mom's basement to the local dump in the continuing crusade to clear out 45 years of junk, tried to figure out what we need to do for the Florida trip (in three more sleeps!), and tried to get everything done I need to before I take off on Tuesday.
I am knackered.
I'm totally ready for a vacation, though I fear 5 days in Disney World isn't going to be quite the relaxing time off I could use.
But the trip did push me to finally get the replacements for my much loved but ailing skull-and-crossbones Rocket Dogs, this lovely pair of red Converse sneakers.

I'm not necessarily admitting to anything, but a certain member of a British manband may have influenced my choice of footwear.

And now I think there's some collapsing in my immediate future.

I think I just imploded from envy.

It does all sound exhausting and really busy but in a rather nice way... Erm, that made sense in my head.
Love the converse.
Get some rest and happy trip! hearts;

I'm hoping I get to go on a roller coaster for myself. I love coasters, but Ros is too wee yet, and the Sweetie isn't a big fan of the serious rides.

|-->See? A certain member of a British manband approves your choice of footwear! *g*
You really need a rest, dear! I haven't done half of your week's program and I'm knackered - so what stated of knackered-ness must you be in?? ::HUGS::
Here's to hoping that the pretty new shoes will take you safely and softly through Disney World and that there will be time for resting these poor feet of yours by some pool as well!
*goes to collect whip in the basement and return to the workshop*

Well, I've had a nice sleep now, so I'm slightly less knackered. (I'v meant to email my fellow TTS mods since Friday, but I've had absolutely no brain.) We shall see if I'm in any shape to write tonight.
We're planning on mid-afternoon pool breaks every day, so there shall definitely be some resting. I'm really hoping there'll be a bit of writing too. (I'm dying to write, and I've had no time or energy all week.)
Good luck with the whip and the workshop!

Glad to hear that! Take your time! I'm still quite happy we have 10 writers and three artists already! I'm hoping we can convince a few more, I know there are more out there who are thinking about joining in...
Good luck with the writing! I know the feeling! I'm in this state of "I kind of know what I want to write but I've got to sort the words in my head first". It's this darn Circus-story, it's brooding and shaping up and then saying "nawww, that's not good enough". I've had a nice plot explosion today, though, while I was under the shower! I think poor Howard is going to be whumped big time! Once I've got it sorted in my head and put down in a doc-file, I'll let you know the details and see if you approve, yes? Also, I don't know whether to add magic or not - it would make things easier to explain, but the plot is realistic now, I don't know if magic would ruin it. It's tricky! :)
The whip was a mistake! He thought he was getting rewarded for the good work so far! Kept asking "is Howard coming, too?" *shakes head* Silly, silly me!

I soooo can't wait to see some of the Circus story. Feel free to send me whatever you've got, whenever you want. It sounds brilliant! And even if the story itself is realistic, it doesn't completely preclude the use of magic. Game of Thrones is in a gritty, realistic medieval setting with the occasional flourish of magic. Just treat the magic realistically, if that make sense.

Heh.

excuseopportunity this is to use my second favourite Howard-icon!Also YAY! for us being online at the same time!!
Trust me, love, I'm going to spam you with that story until you wish you never met me! *g*
Keeping the magic realistic, that's it. You've nailed it. It was quite realistic in Erin Morgenstern's "The Night Circus", the setting is mainly 1890s-1910s, but she managed to get the magic in, very believable, because it was more of a science than magic. Quite interesting approach...we'll see.
I now will have to go and try to get the whip back, or else this time maching will never ever get ready! Boys.

I'm seriously looking forward to your spamming me with the story. It's a brilliant idea with huge potential. And you're just the person to carry through on it!

And awwwwwww! You're always so kind! *bounces* I was so scared with this story and the BB but now I'm getting excited and really starting to feel I can write this down and I'm soooooo looking forward to it! I love that feeling when it starts coming together.
Sleep well! And sweet dreams! xx

Really, I'm going to miss seeing you. We need a Pros gathering so we can hang out and bond. LOL!
Wave at me when you fly over! You know, it's six hours from me. You guys could come for dinner...

Hey, if it's only six hours, you could come and hang at the Mouse House with us! ;-)

Thank you so so so much for all the hard work you did with the Big Bang (and the same to Monika!) - I wouldn't have had a clue where to start and could never have done it without you two. ♥
I am dying of Guillermo-del-Toro-red-Converse-Disney-World jealousy, here! You lucky lucky thing, you! TT have a worrying influence over my clothing choices as well, so don't worry, it's not just you... ;)

I'm so jazzed that we've got the BB underway! And I'm dying to have time to finally write because I totally have an idea for it.
It has been a fun week. Just exhausting. And I'm getting a kick out of the Howard-inspired sneakers. (I've actually had both red and pink tennies in the past, but not for a while. The Howard influence is extremely welcome.)
no subject
Me too! :D I'm so excited for it! I can't wait for the art claims to open either.
Sounds it! And Howard-inspired sneakers are always awesome! Funnily enough, for me, it's Mark who's my style icon. Quirky clothes and plenty of hats! XD
no subject
But I love Howard's sneakers. I've always loved that style of sneakers (though low top rather than high top) and now that Ros is older and it's not an absolute necessity to have shoes that I can slip on quickly to go running after a runaway toddler and I can go back to wearing lace-ups, I have a feeling I'm about to indulge in a bit of a shoe fetish.

Is that why I got whipped? *touches wound on arm carefully* Quite protective, your friend, the unbefuckinglievably lazy time machine constructor!
(There you go - I've finally lost it. Welcome to Moni's Silly Wonderland! I'm warning you: it's downhill from now on!)

I'm hoping to sign up for the TTBB - just need to make sure I have a plot idea first!

Florida should be a blast, though.
Do sign up for the TTBB!!!!!! It would be awesome to have you. And it's only 10,000 words.

The shoes are awesome, though not as comfortable as I'd like. It's not like they're uncomfortable, but I think I'll be wearing them on days when we're coming back to the hotel halfway through and I can change 'em.
Five days away will still be awesome!

Nice shoes, too.

The trip should be fun, and we're determined not to turn it into the Disney Death March and take our time with it.
The shoes are awesome, though they are not as comfortable as they look. But I'm determined to either break them in, or break my feet to them.

Just reading your week's schedule made me tired.... Disney can be so exhausting, hope the relaxation part works out for you anyway!
no subject
The TT Big Bang should be awesome. And hey, even if you're not writing or creating art, you can always cheer everyone else on. We can all contribute.
Reading my schedule makes me tired. I couldn't figure out why I was so looped by the end of the week, and then I sat down and figured out everything I'd had on. It's madness! I'm just hoping for some relaxation time at Disney. At least going with young kids, there's going to be less pressure to try and do every ride. (Ros has already said she'll be quite happy to concentrate on the craft and activity centres they have set up in most of the parks. Which I'm totally cool with.)
