Footie and Florida
It was a soccer coaching night, and the team managed to (decisively) win their first game. 3 - 0! Of course, it probably helped that the other team was mostly smaller and a bit more clueless, but it was still nice for the kids to get one win under their belt. And I think I've got the line up sorted so that there's always at least one of our stronger players on the field, but everyone still gets on the same amount.
The game was right during the time when Venus was making its transit across the sun, so I couldn't watch it. I feel like I've failed as a former astrophysicist, so to make up for it, here's finally one of our Florida pics: Ros in front of the NASA store in the Orlando airport.

By the end of the season you will have an experienced team who will be winners quite a lot of the time! Meanwhile, what a shame you missed the Venus transit but it was in a good cause!

I think they're starting to find their way on the field a bit more. Though I did miss seeing the first goal because I was trying to get two of the boys to not play in the mud on the sidelines. Mud, I'll add, that Rosalind created, on purpose, by dumping out half her water bottle. ::sigh::
But hey, if I can get them not to try and take the ball from their own team mates by the end of the season I'll be happy.

\o/ for the win. It really is nice that your team got to have that.
As to the photo, work it girl! :D

As for the photo, Ros has two modes when I bring out the camera: run away and mug shamelessly. You can see which mode she was in here.

You could, and we did! Although I tried a wee piece and I have to say it's interesting but not entirely tasty.

I missed the Venus-transit too, because it was too cloudy here! *shakes fist at clouds*
And goodness, Ros is so adorable! And posing like a real boyband-member! Natural talent, clearly! *g*

I half expected it to be cloudy, but it was brilliant and sunny. I know, because the sun was in my eyes when I was coaching. :-/ Ah, well, shall just have to live 105 more years so I can see the next one, no? ;-)
Ros can work the poses when she wants to. When she doesn't want to, she's pretty good at hiding from the camera.

All I got to see of it was a picture on tumblr (bless tumblr!). So, yeah, once that time machine is ready we'll just travel there. If only I could find a way to get that unbefuckinglievably lazy scientist WORKING on it?!??
And mmmh again - sounds familiar to me...does she like herbal tea and breakdancing, too? :D

Actually, yeah. She loves chamomile tea, and any sort of dancing really. OMG, my daughter is Jason Orange! Hee.

Good for Ros, though! She'll have a lovely life of sitting on benches, long holidays and hanging out with Mark, Robbie and Howard. And Gary if she really wants to. Could be worse...*g*

And yep, Ros is definitely a cutie. *g*

Haha, she strikes quite the pose there!

It's far more important to me that I make sure they all get equal playing time than they win, actually. (I was a sporty kid, but small and unimpressive looking so I hardly ever got much playing time when I played team sports and it irked me. As a kid, I went out and found solo sports where that didn't matter. As an adult, I don't want any kid on my watch to go through the same thing.)
Ros is quite the diva when she wants to be.
