Yuletide Assignment, Ho

My assignment is for the fandom I added at the last minute because I thought it might be cool.

It will be cool, but in the meantime it's also a little terrifying. On the positive side, my recipient's Dear Yulegoat letter has asked for exactly the same kind of story I like myself, so yay!

The Sweetie is also chuffed about the assignment because he's keen on watching the source again, so there will not doubt be several viewings of the source material in the next few weeks.

EEEEEEKKKKKKK!!!!! (Which is pretty much my standard reaction to anything related to Yuletide. *g*)

I shall be swatting up as well, although I also really lucked out in my assignment. On the other hand, I had spent a lot more time thinking about possible stories in the fantoms I was more terrified about. So, now, there is a bit of panic.

Well! This is all very exciting. Of course it would be the one you added at the last minute. Sod's law!

Well, I lucked out last year and got a fandom I'd always wanted to write, so it all evens out in the end.

Go you for lucking out on your assignment. Getting a good assignment on your first year is better than the opposite.

My assignment might be the one I added at the last minute, but it's also one I've idly speculated on writing since, so it's probably a good thing.

And to end EEEEEEEKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!! (Which is an entirely valid reaction to all things Yuletide.)

You know, truthfully, I'm really pleased with myself for just going ahead and doing it this year. I've thought about Yuletide for years, but never felt I had the time or energy. Well. Here we go! (Insert obligatory EEEEKKKKK.)

I am, of course, consumed with curiosity regarding your assignment. Can one simultaneously be eager for the reveal and yet want to hold back time just a little bit? Ah, yes, the push/pull of Yuletide. *g*

I had the same problem with YT for years. It just seemed so overwhelming. But then I took the plunge and realized it's mostly just a lot of fun.

I'm dying to see your story/find out your assignment too, but I'm perfect happy to have that month and a half to write the story. ;-)

I suspect part of you even as you typed in that fourth fandom knew this was going to happen.

Oooooh you got lucky with your letter? Erm, I could have phrased that better.

I think I'm not going to look at my letter until the morning when hopefully I'll be feeling better about it.

That would be the tenth fandom I offered. Because I am nothing if not a masochist when it comes to my Yuletide offers. It was something that caught my eye even as I scrolled past it, then I went back and did the "oh, what the heck" thing. I'm increasing thinking it's going to be fun.

Good luck with your letter. I'm sure it'll all be good.

This is my first Yuletide as an "actual" participant - I've written treats and whatnot the past couple years - and I got two lovely possibilities that I now have to decide between! It was interesting that one of them was a fandom I requested, but not actually offered. *quivers with glee like a puppy*

Now to test-drive Yuletide icons and see which ones I like best. *more with the happy quivering*

Oooh, looking forward to see what you've drawn and what you write. And why choose? You could always do some sort of crazy crossover mashup. (Says the woman who managed to cross A Knight's Tale with Hotel California. *g*)

Test driving Yuletide icons is always a fun thing. I had a few but found I always came back to this one, so now it's my go to Yuletide one.

Well I know I can't wait to see what fandom you got, bring on posting..........ok I am a bit ahead of myself there :D.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2012-11-03 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Noooooooo. Not yet! Lemme wrap my head around the assignment first. (My brain is starting to work out a very wacky crossover. I'm hoping I can control that. )

Heh. Yeah, somehow it always feels like YULETIDE KNOWS. <____< And now if you'll pardon me, I must get back to my excited/nervous running in circles!

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2012-11-03 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yuletide totally knows!

And just know that there is at least one person out there running in excited/nervous circles with you.

Assuming I know anything at all about the fandom you're writing in, I'd be delighted to beta for you again.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2012-11-03 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
You are the best! (You may or may not know the canon, but it's not something where you'd need to be intimately acquainted with canon for it to make sense.)

And if I can reciprocate, let me know. It seems like I've actually got things under control this year so betaing is totally doable.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2012-12-17 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
I've just finished a draft, and am about to send you a copy of my YT story, if you still have time to beta.
