When Fandoms Collide

So, someone posted this pic on [livejournal.com profile] seanbeandaily of the Bean in the costume he wore during his run of Macbeth in 2002.

Which brought to my mind this pic of Take That from '94.
Oh, the outfits...

I'm still not quite sure if the universe just went out of alignment or my brain is horribly skewed or both, but there you go. :-/

*snorts* :P

What is it with northern boys and net shirts? *g*

Lol! I went to see him in that Macbeth! It was not the best Macbeth ever(or terribly well-received by some critics as I recall) but Samantha Bond was an excellent Lady Macbeth and they were hella sexy together. Although I did spend a lot of the time trying to prevent my BFF #2, who is the world's most massive Bean fan (well...she probably was...she's gone off his more grizzled look recently :D) from actually drooling over the front of the dress circle *g*

I nearly went to see that Macbeth, but it was a choice of vacation in New Zealand and Hong Kong or London and the Bean. NZ and HK won. But I did drag the Sweetie to an out of the way village in NZ for a jet boat tour because it was the closest you could get to the location where they shot Boromir's death in Lord of the Rings, so I reckon I earn the second most massive Bean fan ever award. *g*

...So Sure was secretly part of a MacBeth performance?

I more see the Bean as a closet Take That fan. *g*

Ooh, Sean Bean.

I do trust you have seen Caravaggio? (If not, say quickly, and I'll fling it in the case.)

I remember seeing that film when I was 17 or so (underage, yes) and it made quite an impression.

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2014-08-12 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I've seen Caravaggio many times. And own a copy. And try to see it whenever it's screened. (You might say I like it a bit. *g*)

That film was my entry drug to Derek Jarman's films, most of which I also adore.

I suspected so, but never hurts to check... :)

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2014-08-12 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, absolutely!

[identity profile] halotolerant.livejournal.com 2014-08-12 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
...the mental images I suddenly have of Sean/Howard are so very, erm, pleasant *g* Maybe with Markie too...

*drifts happily*

Thank you for that *g* ♥

Okay, somehow I didn't immediately go to the slash place. But now I have, and it's delicious! The Bean and Dougie and Markie, oh my. (My muse is now screaming at me "Write that! Write that!" Uh oh.)

[identity profile] przed.livejournal.com 2014-08-13 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, I've written 500 words of the Bean flirting with Howard and Mark, and it's all your fault.

[identity profile] halotolerant.livejournal.com 2014-08-13 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I AM SO REPENTANT RIGHT NOW *g*

Yaaaaaaay \o/ We get to see it soon, I hope?

My brain just instantly pasted them all together. I get that a lot *g* (To be fair, The Bean's expression in that top photo would befit a man who has just spotted a Howard and a Markie waiting for him) I kind of want to write a Sean Bean/Howard fic where they're both Viking thralls, for no particular reason except apparently in my brain net shirts=slaves? Who fall in love and go hunting and there's a poetic fire?

I can tell you're so repentant. *g*

I suspect you'll see it soon. It's looking to be short-ish. Which is good, because I'm still plodding away at the cop!Howard investigating kidnapped!Markie story, and that puppy's looking to be 30,000 words, easy.

Write that! Write that right now! I can see that being an awesome companion piece to In the Flickering of the Lamps. (I still live in hope you'll write a follow-up to that where Jason and Howard rescue Mark and live happily ever after.)
