Footie: Games Fourteen and Fifteen
Another late footie post, due to camping, recovering from camping, compiling my film fest sked, prepping for BistoCon and attending BistoCon. (The con seems to be going well. People are enjoying themselves! There have been no disasters...so far! There is mucho talk of Pros!)
There's two games to report on. The first Ros and I missed due to the above camping, but one of our dads took over. We only had seven kids show up, which meant we only had one sub, but apparently the kids played really well and kept it tied up until virtually the last second. At which point (as several moms were eager to tell me) our goalie stopped the ball and was holding it, a member of the opposition kicked her elbow, our goalie dropped the ball and the other team kicked it in. I'm still not quite sure how the ref let them kicking our goalie go, but I'm just happy we were competitive and they didn't blow us out.
Tuesday's game went more our way. Ros was strong in goal in the first half and didn't let anything in, and we managed to score. In the second half, our second goalie let one in, but then we managed to get the winning goal in and our goalie held strong for it. And enjoying (I hope) the game from the sidelines was
moonlightmead, who was visiting on her way to BistoCon.
One game left in the regular season! Which makes me both sad and relieved.
