Another late footie post, due to camping, recovering from camping, compiling my film fest sked, prepping for BistoCon and attending BistoCon. (The con seems to be going well. People are enjoying themselves! There have been no disasters...so far! There is mucho talk of Pros!)

There's two games to report on. The first Ros and I missed due to the above camping, but one of our dads took over. We only had seven kids show up, which meant we only had one sub, but apparently the kids played really well and kept it tied up until virtually the last second. At which point (as several moms were eager to tell me) our goalie stopped the ball and was holding it, a member of the opposition kicked her elbow, our goalie dropped the ball and the other team kicked it in. I'm still not quite sure how the ref let them kicking our goalie go, but I'm just happy we were competitive and they didn't blow us out.

Tuesday's game went more our way. Ros was strong in goal in the first half and didn't let anything in, and we managed to score. In the second half, our second goalie let one in, but then we managed to get the winning goal in and our goalie held strong for it. And enjoying (I hope) the game from the sidelines was [livejournal.com profile] moonlightmead, who was visiting on her way to BistoCon.

One game left in the regular season! Which makes me both sad and relieved.

Had I been at the game, I would have had a quiet word with the ref. But even given that call, we're still top of the league, so I really can't complain.

BistoCon ended up being fab, and we have committed to doing it all again in two years, so I hope you can make it then. (I'm afraid it will have to be pretty much the same weekend, or perhaps a week earlier, due to various other obligations, so I'm not sure if it will overlap with your teaching.)

I definitely enjoyed it! They all had so much determination, and it was exciting, and parents applauded the other teams, which was nice - and having camping chairs to sit in is so very civilised! :)

It's a friendly league, and I'm glad we could provide civilised seating arrangements. *g*

Hope you made it home easily!

I am now home, yes, thank you! Full of happy memories and ideas for the future. Thank you so, so much for having me to stay at such an inconvenient time for you, and for calming me down at the border. Ahem.

And best of luck in the final game tonight - no, wait, eep, I lost a day crossing the Atlantic. It will have been last night? Fingers crossed, then!

It was lovely to have you stay with us, though I'm sorry I couldn't spend more time showing you the city/talking Pros & slash. And I'm totally the person for calming other people at the border. (Deep calming breaths! *g*)

The game was indeed last night, against the second best team in the league. And we won handily!

Bistocon is a blast! Laughing the mason jar in Cowley's butt off.

It was a total blast. Not least of all because I got to meet you in person!

Arrgh for the clear foul! But yay for the second game (and playing strong in the first game), and for visitors!

I'm sitting at the airport, all sad about leaving the con. It was so much fun! If you need any long-distance help with the next one, do let me know. I had a wonderful time! (I hope you and FjBryan get some well-deserved rest now. Possibility an impossibility with a child and a film fest and other things, but…I hope so!)

In spite of the foul, we're still at the top of the standings, so I shouldn't complain too much. *g*

I'm sad the con is over, but very chuffed we managed to pull it off! (Nobody noticed we were faking it! Hooray!)

Thank you for such a wonderful time. It was so much fun getting to see everyone and have a whole weekend to talk Pros. And it was so well organized without feeling over scheduled. I'm so sorry that I had to leave early, and I really hope no one else gets sick, but I'm feeling pretty miserable so it was the right thing to do.

I'm so glad you got to come, and that you thought we got the scheduling right. (There was much agonizing over that.)

I do hope you're feeling well soon. So far I haven't heard that anyone else has got sick, so fingers crossed there.
