(I've been awfully busy and therefore very quiet on here, sorry!)
They have outdone themselves once again, haven't they? Can't wait to hear more about what you thought of the show - if you'd let me I'd blabber 24/7 about how good it is :)
I haven't been around much myself. We get back to the hotel room every night and I collapse soon after Ros does. And sometimes before!
But yes! They have completely outdone themselves! I have a feeling I won't have time for a full review until we're back in Canada, but would definitely love to hear what you thought. It was such an amazing show.
I was completely blown away by the show when we first saw it on opening night in Glasgow! The visuals were absolutely stunning and we were so surprised by some of the setlist! I mean, I basically fangirled myself to death over the part where they chose to play all my fave songs from The Circus (The Garden, UAN and Said It All) <3 And everyone asked the same question afterwards and I felt bad about anwering that no, I didn't miss Jason at all because they managed to make the show perfect for the three of them :)
And the show in London was just out of this world! Handsdown the best TT gig I've ever seen, and I've been to every tour! The crowd was SO loud, and was singing and dancing along to each song (while in Glasgow people kept sitting back down even during some of the faster songs). I took my hubby to his first TT gig then as well and he loved it! By now he's even added some TT songs to his car playlist so I'm feeling very accomplished ;)
I hope you're having a fab time in the UK - can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!!!
My first show definitely blew me away. The visuals really are stunning, and the set list left me very happy. There were songs I would have liked to have seen in the set list--Into the Wild, LoveLife, and Mancunian Way, chiefly--but at the end of it all I didn't feel like anything was missing. It was all very satisfying.
And yeah, for the most part while I was in the moment, I didn't miss Jason. The show was set up very well for the three of them. The one exception to that was Pray. When you have four, or five, of them, you get the opportunity for those lovely interactions around the mics during the middle eight, but they didn't do that with only three of them, alas.
The crowd was definitely amazing at both the London shows I saw. Gary's not kidding when he says that the audience is half their shows. I have never seen an audience that enthusiastic at any show, ever. (Congrats on your hubby being converted! Mine remains unmoved, the he freely affirmed that "Howard Donald is a handsome, handsome man." *g*)
I've been swamped with work and getting back into the rhythm of things at home and adjusting back into our time zone, so I haven't had time to post anything more about the concert, but I think I'm going to attempt something tonight.
