I... Actually Feel Okay!

Things are on the upswing.

With the exception of a minor bounce back of concussion symptoms on Monday, I finally feel like a normal human being. Also my wrist is...not perfect, but better.

So, for the first time since September 14, I finally drove the car tonight! Without the Sweetie!

My wrist is still sore enough that I don't think I'd want to take on any long distance drives yet, but I did okay. This is great news because the two times I tried driving in December I noped right out mere seconds after I started.

And just because it is now my favourite pic of me, have this gem I found whilst digitizing my mom's slide collection. I like to call it "Little Zed Will Absolutely Fuck Your Shit Up." Just look at that clenched fist. (And yeah, I couldn't resist making an icon of it.)

Little me was clearly in a Mood. I also love that jacket. 1968 was clearly a good year for kid's fashion. :D

I'm so relieved to be feeling better. And will be making an effort to stay that way.

what an amazing photo! And such good news re: driving! When I had brain problems for a while, I hated that Hoosband had to drive. (I'm the driver in my family, and to lose that control, augh!)

There's not a lot of photos of me I love, but I love this one.

I am also the primary driver of the family, so neither the Sweetie nor I have enjoyed me not being able to drive. (Ros has a LOT of activities she needs to be driven to.) On the positive side, driving all the time for four months has improved the Sweetie's driving skill considerably. He even drove to a hockey tournament in a snowstorm this past weekend and was (mostly) totally okay with it.

I'm so thrilled you're better! I do have a friend about your age who had (has) a concussion and it's taken her a long time to feel normal. I've been worried about you! Like over a year so I'm so happy you are doing well!

I was pretty blonde until my mid 20s. Then dyed blonde for another 5 or 6 years. When I finally let my hair go back to it's natural colour and it had darkened, my mom would say "wow, you're hair has gone dark, hasn't it?" every time I saw her for years.

I'm relieved the concussion symptoms weren't too long lived. Though I do find they rebound a bit if I'm stressed or don't get enough sleep. More incentive to keep a decent sleep schedule. Can't miss Escapade!

Head injuries are terrible, and I only got a mild concussion. I never want another one.

Have to say, I really really love the photo of Little Zed. (I used to have (now lost, I think) a snap of me at about that kind of age aiming a toy gun at the camera, but this one of you is way better :-) )

This getting old thing is annoying. I used to be able to shake off most injuries relatively quickly. Although I was talking to a co-worker whose teenage son had a concussion (also hockey related) in November and it took him much longer to get where I am.

I am being very conscious to conserve my energy.

I’m definitely over the worst of the concussion but still not perfect. I want to see 1917, but I’m going to give it a few more weeks because I suspect it would still be a bit much for me.

My guess is I’m either three or four.

On my mom’s, non-Latvian, side, I’m 1/4 Cornish, so there could be some distant mutual ancestors. :D

I'm not 100%, but way better than I was. (Just watched the American Ninja Warrior special with Ros, and now feeling a bit off. No more TV for today.)
