Bucky Times Two

It's been ages since I've posted here, but this, I couldn't resist.

On Friday, two very exciting things will happen.

The first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the series I have been waiting for FOREVERRRRRR, will finally drop.

And the basketball team of my grad school alma mater, the Wisconsin Badgers, will play their first, and hopefully not last, game of this year's March Madness.

In honour of these events, I will be wearing my Bucky Badger, Winter Soldier t-shirt all day.


(You have no idea how excited I was to find that shirt on TeePublic when I went looking for some better Winter Soldier merch than Marvel has supplied.)

In other news, I've finished a first draft of the wayyyyy late Stucky FTH story, only 19 months after it was due. In a bid for poetic justice, I used this year's FTH to bid on a beta for the story. I might actually get it polished and posted in the not too distant future!

That is one of my favourite shirts because it's just so ridiculous. And also because the Sweetie pointed out the Bucky Barnes/Bucky Badger connection years ago. :D

Ever since I've been brought into MCU, the Bucky announcements give me that Moment. (Poor Barnes there in his filthy sweater, left breast nearly out)

I need to locate my When you Want the Best Barnes mug. (I'm also weirdly enamored with the older style of Newcastle bottles.)

Isn't it great? It's like it was made for me.

I spent two years in the early '90s doing grad school in Madison. I somehow never made it to a game while I lived there (I was in a very demanding program and was mostly doing school stuff all the time) but I make it a point to watch the Badgers as far as they go in March Madness every year.

I love that shirt. The Bucky sweatshirt I brought home from Madison has long since gone to meet its maker, so it's nice to have a sort of UW shirt that is also a fannish shirt of my current fave character.

I thought that FTH story was going to kill me. I hate first drafts. Fortunately, I love editing, so now I'm just waiting for my beta's comments to come through so I can begin the tweaking. (Given that it's slightly over 130 pages in Word, I know it's going to take her a while to slog through it.)

At least I'm at the editing part of the story, and I love editing as much as I hate writing first drafts.
