Snow and Book Launchings
I braved the snowy, blowy weather we're getting hit with today to attend the book launch of
matociquala's Hammered. The launch was held at Bakka, Toronto's oldest, okay, Toronto's only SF and Fantasy book store. It was great to meet Elizabeth and chat briefly, and I trudged home through the snow, warm in the knowledge that I had a signed copy of Hammered ready to read.
I may even start it tonight. I just started Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, but I haven't met Susanna Clarke. Plus, I think I'm in the mood for a kick ass female character just at the moment.

The style of JS&MN is what attracted me to it--I love big 19th century novels, not to mention the Napoleonic era--but it's so freaking huge. I'm afraid I'll stall out on it out of sheer inertia.
