Hoorah!

[livejournal.com profile] faramir_boromir, the package came! And I spent a good hour pouring over the programs. (How adorable is Ewan?)

I'd love to hear what you thought of the shows.

P, I haven't even been able to write in my own personal journal about the trip to London. I have lots of notes, and things I want to say, but...the bombings just took the spirit right out of me.

I'll write eventually, don't worry. I just don't know how soon.

And I'm so very glad the package arrived. I saw four shows but only sent you materials on 3 because the 4th was a dog. A howling, mangy cur. *Aristocrats* at the National, brand new play by Friel. Warooooooo......

I completely understand not being able to write about the trip. I feel a bit queasy about the bombings, and I was nowhere near them.

Sorry to hear that you saw one dog. They can't all be gems, but it's too bad the National had a rum one.

At the intermission, the elderly couple seated next to me left without applauding. They were clearly veteran theatre goers, and as they made their way to the lobby, one says, "Was it the actors, the play or the direction?" The other says, "Oh, the actors are working with what they've been given, so's the director. It's the play that's horrid." O_O

This has to be the most positive review I've read of it: http://enjoyment.independent.co.uk/theatre/reviews/article299144.ece

I only had to see the word "Chekovian" in the review and I got afraid.

Chekhovian + National = deadly dull.
