Monday Update
Okay, things are not quite as bad as they looked earlier today.
The plumbers came within an hour of being called, replaced a gasket, did some caulking and reckon that'll do the trick. No wall ripped out. Yay!
And whilst the plumbers were here, the sweetie returned from his doctor's with a bag of pharmaceuticals. Antibiotics for the infection he no doubt has, and antivirals because his doc thinks there's a slight chance he might have shingles. He's already looking better and even ate a whole tuna fish sandwich for lunch! (Exciting news, since at his worst on Friday night he could only manage six sad little pieces of fussili for dinner.)
The writing is still a worry, but I'm going to try not to stress about it.

The sweetie is up and down. He managed to attend a much anticipated Peckinpah film at our local Cinematheque last night with no problem, but then spiked another fever of 102 at 5 this morning. Hopefully those antibiotics will kill the fever real soon now.
