Yay!

Just got an email from the Escapade organizers and both my panel suggestions made the final cut. Yay!

So, those of you going, I'll be a panelist on:

Cops, Spies and Secret Agents

and

Pros: 30 Years and Still Going Strong

I knew the Cops one was doing well in the voting, but the poor Pros panel wasn't so much, so it's a nice surprise that they both made it through.

Congratulations - they both look great topics.

Thanks. They should both be fun. And both allows for discussing Pros, so double yay.

Terrific! I'm looking forward to hearing about them!

Wish you were coming.

BTW, started rereading Classified last night. Brilliant stuff.

Yay! They both sound great, and if I were going I'd be interested in attending both.

Sometimes it seems as though slash fandom is divided into sci fi fans and cop show fans, and I am definitely more into the latter.

And as a recent convert to Pros, I'd be intrigued to hear what people attributed its longevity to.

I started off more in the SF end of things, but I'm firmly on the cop side these days. Well, when I'm not into Gondorian warriors, anyway. *g*

Pros, though, seems to hold a special place for a lot of people. Much like UNCLE, my other big fandom. There are a lot of mono-fandom fans within it. And even if they leave the fandom, people seem to retain a real affection for it, far more than with some of the newer, brighter, shinier fandoms.
