Well, that's three days I'm not getting back

I was hoping I'd be nearing the end of the BB story by now. Nope.

On the positive side, Ros has recovered from her adventure in squished fingers.

On the downside, I had a gradually escalating migraine that finally took me out for a good chunk of Tuesday and Wednesday. And since anything but a dark, quiet room resulted in pain not unlike having a red hot spike driven into my right eye, it meant not a whole lot of computer time, and almost no writing. I probably would have been over it by Wednesday afternoon, but Wednesday evening I did my assistant coach thing for Ros' soccer team, and that put me down completely again. (I have long since decided that the worst part of migraines is not that they're painful. It's that they're bloody boring. I can't watch TV, go online, write, listen to music, read, or even think. They're a big pile of no fun.)

I did, somehow, manage a bit on the story. Broke the 21,000 word limit, and finished a good chunk of the next scene.

I also figured out that two of the scenes in the outline were doing virtually nothing and could be excised. Though I don't think that's going to get the word count down much.

I'm hoping to get a bit done on the weekend. We're off to a cottage with friends tomorrow. There'll be no internet, which means no electronic distractions, but I'm sure there'll be lots of other fun distractions to balance that out.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, and I'll see you all on Sunday!

I know what you mean about migraines. All the stuff you would normally do to pass the time when you feel bad - watch TV, surf online, read a book in bed - you just can't friggin' do!

Have a nice restful weekend xxxx

The migraine is now completely gone, and the weekend was a blast. The girls had a great time, the adults did too. There was swimming, canoeing, and consuming of G&Ts.

Poor you.

I do hope the migraine goes away fully very soon. *Hugs*

Glad to hear Ros has recovered.

And I hope you had a lovely time at the cottage.

Fantastic to hear that Ros has recovered and just look at your word count. ♥

I have quite a few mates who get migraine and their descriptions of them sound terrible.

I hope you lovely weekend away.

I quite loathe migraines. I'm going to go on a serious search for meds that might work on them, because I can no longer afford to take three days to get over one.

As for the weekend and the word count, the weekend was lovely, and I even managed to add words to the story, in amongst the swimming and canoeing and consuming of the occasional G&T.

I'm glad that Ros is okay! It sucks about the migraine. I've never had done, so I think I'll pass on trying. But you know you can always take a pen and paper with you. *g* Actually you and I know you can write on your laptop without net, so there's no excuse not to write! LOL. Really, it's hard to write when you're having a weekend away, so go and have fun.

I would strongly advise you to keep on passing on the migraines. They doth truly suck.

And I actually managed to get words written on the weekend, along with all the relaxing and having fun.

Oh, ugh, about the migraine. Here's hoping no more come your way for quite some time. Like...never would be good. *g*

I'm so glad Ros has recovered and it can now be one of those stories that is told and retold for the rest of her life. *g*

Yay for what you've managed to write, despite the pain. I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Never would be awesome. I like never.

But at least the headache is gone, and a fabulous time was had by all. And I managed to add nearly another 1,000 words to the story. (I'll be writing like a fiend to try and finish a first draft by the end of the week.)

Great news about Ros but am sorry that you have been suffering with a migraine. Oh and have a fabulous weekend.
