I was hoping I'd be nearing the end of the BB story by now. Nope.
On the positive side, Ros has recovered from her adventure in squished fingers.
On the downside, I had a gradually escalating migraine that finally took me out for a good chunk of Tuesday and Wednesday. And since anything but a dark, quiet room resulted in pain not unlike having a red hot spike driven into my right eye, it meant not a whole lot of computer time, and almost no writing. I probably would have been over it by Wednesday afternoon, but Wednesday evening I did my assistant coach thing for Ros' soccer team, and that put me down completely again. (I have long since decided that the worst part of migraines is not that they're painful. It's that they're bloody boring. I can't watch TV, go online, write, listen to music, read, or even think. They're a big pile of no fun.)
I did, somehow, manage a bit on the story. Broke the 21,000 word limit, and finished a good chunk of the next scene.

I also figured out that two of the scenes in the outline were doing virtually nothing and could be excised. Though I don't think that's going to get the word count down much.
I'm hoping to get a bit done on the weekend. We're off to a cottage with friends tomorrow. There'll be no internet, which means no electronic distractions, but I'm sure there'll be lots of other fun distractions to balance that out.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend, and I'll see you all on Sunday!

Date: 2010-07-23 01:23 pm (UTC)I'm so glad Ros has recovered and it can now be one of those stories that is told and retold for the rest of her life. *g*
Yay for what you've managed to write, despite the pain. I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Date: 2010-07-26 02:02 am (UTC)But at least the headache is gone, and a fabulous time was had by all. And I managed to add nearly another 1,000 words to the story. (I'll be writing like a fiend to try and finish a first draft by the end of the week.)
