The Writerly Death March Is On
I'm edging ever closer to finishing the Pros Big Bang story. Look!
Five scenes to go, and it's done! Three of those are the climax, and the other two are denouement/sex scenes. This, in theory, is going to be the fun part to write, the emotional centre the rest of it has been building to.
Of course, in practice, I have two days to produce 5,000 words before we leave on an eight day family vacation to points north where there will be limited writing time.
But between nap times, and Ros' early bed time, I'm hoping I can finish those last few scenes and then get started on the re-writes. And man, is it going to need some re-writes. (I usually polish as I go, but I'm not letting myself go back and check anything. Not until I have a complete first draft.)

Good luck with that! I tried to do the same, but just couldn't resist fiddling.
Which may be why I still have at least three scenes to write and am panicking over the vexed question of How much sex? and If so, Where?
But you sound as if you have got a Plan - crossing fingers that it all works out for you, and enjoy your vacation!

Three scenes doesn't sound too bad. Though I know what you mean about the sex. I know there will be some, but the details are hazy.

Yes, good luck with that. *g* My response might be colored by the fact that I reached that exact same point in my story and, er, let's just say the writing of the fun stuff took a lot longer than expected.... *g* (And it still isn't actually done.)

I have hopes that the fun stuff will come quickly. Or should I say "fun" stuff, because yeah, I rather suspect it's not going to be that much fun to write.
My big hope is that I can at least get the climactic scenes done before we leave tomorrow. Of course, I'm solo mom tonight, have to make potato salad for a work thing tomorrow and have to do one more load of laundry and pack so we can get on the road right after work tomorrow. No problem. Sleep is for the weak, right?
