Soccer Night: Game Four

It was looking a bit dodgy yesterday, when we had monsoon-like rains all day and night, but we had another lovely night for our game. And the kids had a great game. They were all really digging in, and our two goalies went above and beyond the call. And we had a great result. We won, 5 - 0!

At the end I was actually hoping the other team would get at least one goal, because I know how discouraging that can be from the other side. But they seemed to have had a good time, too.

Sounds like the team is really getting into it, congrats!

I can't contain my curiosity any longer. Have you had the chance to give the album a few listens? If so, what do you think?!

They're a good group of kids, and having a lot of fun, which is all I can ask. Winning is just a nice bonus.

I downloaded the album Sunday night. First impression: LOVE IT! There's not a song I don't like, and I seriously love most of it. My favourites change hour to hour, but I'm definitely loving Giveaway, Heaven's Falling, End of Everything, and Carnival. How about you?

BTW, [livejournal.com profile] sunshine_2525 saw Mark in Sheffield and said she had a brilliant time. She said Mark seemed really happy with the response and it was a great show. Yay!

Isn't it amazing?! :D Love the whole album too and at this point I could list every song as my favourite, but I think Ghost is my winner, totally in love with that song. S.A.D. also touches me and I love Us and Ours and The One. It's hard to pick!

Aw that sounds good! It's so nice reading about all these positive experiences, don't think Mark could give anything but a great show! Also read something about him being a bit overwhelmed by the response in Sheffield. The precious human being.

Have you had a look at the set list yet? (I want to know everything, so I have to be careful not to spoil others ;))

Ghost is awesome, as is S.A.D. And The One. And Us and ours. It really is hard to pick just one favourite track.

Aww, I can imagine him being overwhelmed by the response. I do so hope the album charts well. He's certainly been putting in the effort on promotion.

I did see the set list. (I wasn't going look at it, then I stumbled across it on Tumblr and decided I didn't want to expend energy hoping for songs that weren't ever going to show up.) While many of my favourite older songs aren't there (Pieces of Heaven, sigh) it looks like a satisfying combination of older and new, with a bit of TT, but not too much, thrown in for good measure.

Can't wait!

That's great! It sounds like they did a fine job.

The winning part is fun, but it's also nice to see them get into the game. And the kids on the sidelines are actually watching the game and cheering for their team mates. (Every year up to this point it's been a challenge to stop them from emptying out their water bottles and making mudpies on the sidelines.)

Wow, go team! *waves banner for your mini footie league* *g*

::salutes waving banner::

Next step: seeing if I can get them to run actual passing plays. And stop them from stripping the ball from a team mate in their enthusiasm. *g*
