R.I.P. Spalding Gray

I was very sad to hear last night that the body Spalding Gray has finally been found. He disappeared at the end of January, and given his history of despression, everyone feared the worst. And alas, the worst has happened.

I've loved his monologues since I saw the film of Swimming to Cambodia in university. I never managed to see him live, and now I never will, but he never failed to delight me when I saw him, either as a character actor or doing his own works on stage.

The New York Time article can be found here. (You'll need to register to read it, but it's free.)

Yeah, I was saddened to hear this news as well.

Don introduced me to Spadling's work and I always enjoyed his neurotic rants.

On a lighter note I had a very bizarre dream last night in which you were on a panel of about 6 people hosting a public access cable program about Slash Fiction. Hmmm, I somehow don't see Roger Cable 10 going for that. There were other parts of the dream too where I was doing lots of unfocused writing, juggling different projects.

Time to focus I guess.

Not to mention the fact that you'd never get slash fans to show their faces on t.v., public access or not. ;)

I'm just about to send in my registration for Ad Astra. Are you going to register, or just play it by ear?

Actually, I'd like to register for this. I have every intention of going. It's the first weekend in April correct?

My mom is in town the week before, but will be headed home by that weekend, so other than parenting duties I am free and hoping to attend some of it.

Judging how messed up their registeration was last time it may be just as easy to register at the door.
