R.I.P. Spalding Gray
Mar. 9th, 2004 09:31 amI was very sad to hear last night that the body Spalding Gray has finally been found. He disappeared at the end of January, and given his history of despression, everyone feared the worst. And alas, the worst has happened.
I've loved his monologues since I saw the film of Swimming to Cambodia in university. I never managed to see him live, and now I never will, but he never failed to delight me when I saw him, either as a character actor or doing his own works on stage.
The New York Time article can be found here. (You'll need to register to read it, but it's free.)

Date: 2004-03-11 10:06 am (UTC)My mom is in town the week before, but will be headed home by that weekend, so other than parenting duties I am free and hoping to attend some of it.
Judging how messed up their registeration was last time it may be just as easy to register at the door.
