We have floor!
The hardwood guy and gal finished up yesterday, and we now have lovely hardwood on our main floor. So, that's done, though there's still the sawdust that's evaded both the vacuum and the Swiffer.
Next step: paint. We've got to come up with colours for the living room and dining room that match our furniture and floor and art and mattes for the art. Both the S.O. and I like bold colours, but we're both picky and like slightly different colours. This would be the reason that after nearly five years in the house, we haven't painted a single wall.
However, we now have a plan. A garnet red for two walls in the living room; a sage green for the other walls, including the one that goes into the dining room; a slate/royal blue for the rest of the dining room/kitchen.
I'm off tomorrow to buy the paint, and then we get to find out if we were just smoking the bad crack when we picked these colours.
(None of this is even remotely fannish, I know, but it does explain why I haven't had time to read, comment or do any other remotely fannish things. Well, except the UNCLE vid is pretty much ready for MediaWest.)

Good luck with the painting. Don't forget to find time to submit your picks for the Summer Movie Pool.
I need to beat you and Don this year with my laughable picks.
I should be around when you guys finish the painting to help move stuff back into the living room. Can't wait to see it all.

As for help moving the furniture, that would be, well, groovy. We actually managed to move all of it, minus the couch, ourselves, but I'm not anxious to repeat that feat.

Now who's laughing at who.

Glad to hear things are coming together otherwise, though. Decorating is a royal pita.

And yep, decorating is a royal pain. It's nice we're finally getting somewhere, but it really does take over your life. And I have much more interesting things to be doing with my life. Like vids. And stories. Sigh.
