WorldCon Vignette
My most exciting WorldCon thing today was hearing Ellen Kushner read a brand new Riverside story with Alec and Richard. (More specifically, the story of how Alec became the Duke Tremontaine.) It was funny and lovely and I can't wait for it to be published. Which will be next year, but it will be worth the wait.
Afterward, I fangirled Ms. Kushner--no one else was talking to her! I couldn't help myself--and hopefully managed to maintain a sane and respectful aspect. But I couldn't get that close and not tell her how much her novels have meant to me.

If you run into her again, be sure to send my regards.

And lucky you, doing the lunch with her and Delia Sherman. They've both been delightful panelists at the con.

She did say what the title of the anthology was, and I completely spaced on it. If I make it into the kaffeklatsch with her, I shall ask again.

That is exciting news! I love Alec and Richard. :-) If you do manage to get the title, please let us know!

I'm green with envy. What an experience. Lucky girl.

As for meeting Ms. Kushner, it was a nice experience. She's funny and gracious and wasn't obviously trying to run for the exit when I told her how much I enjoyed her writing.

Absolutely.
Kushner was the guest I was most excited about seeing. She did not disappoint.
