My most exciting WorldCon thing today was hearing Ellen Kushner read a brand new Riverside story with Alec and Richard. (More specifically, the story of how Alec became the Duke Tremontaine.) It was funny and lovely and I can't wait for it to be published. Which will be next year, but it will be worth the wait.

Afterward, I fangirled Ms. Kushner--no one else was talking to her! I couldn't help myself--and hopefully managed to maintain a sane and respectful aspect. But I couldn't get that close and not tell her how much her novels have meant to me.

I cannot believe it. I am so jealous. I am dying to read that story. I hoped it would be "funny and lovely"--so glad to hear you found it to be.

You'll totally enjoy it. Though it was awesome to hear her read it herself. She's a wonderful performer.

And lucky you, doing the lunch with her and Delia Sherman. They've both been delightful panelists at the con.
