Since his original accent was Brummy, he's definitely affecting a posher accent these days. I like his voice as Doyle better, but I don't dislike his voice now.
I really have to watch For the Greater Good some time, though. I've had a tape of it for ages, but never seem to get around to watching it.
You're absolutely right that none of either Lewis or Martin's other characters are a patch on Bodie and Doyle.
