Yuletide Good News and Bad News

The good news is I have miraculously finished my Yuletide assignment, well ahead of the deadline. And I even think I stuck the landing! I have time to do treats! Or a pinch hit!

The bad news is I just realized I haven’t come up with a title for the sucker yet. (I hate coming up with titles.)

Titles are the worst! I can have my fic all coded and be uploading it to AO3 and ~still not have a title, lol!

I’m glad I’m not the only one! I was going to get mine prepped to upload last night when I realized it was still called Yuletide 2024. (I also struggle with summaries, though not quite as much as titles.)

I don't mind doing titles. Back in my Sentinel days, I used to title stories for a few folks. Titles are important so think of a good one! LOL! I find it hard to continue writing a story after a few pages if it doesn't have a title. It's like a puppy or kitten. It needs a name. *bg* Who loves ya, baby?

I find one of two things happen with titles. Either I find a good one right away, or I bang my head against a wall until the last minute trying to come up with one I don’t hate. I’ve had several betas over the years who I could depend on to come up with a better title than I could.

And...Sympathies! Heh. Much of the time, I blithely don't think about a title until it's all done and then I go "...oh dang". And I start rummaging and brainstorming, sweat flying off my head.

My story is done as well, high five!

Either a title comes right away or I sweat over it. This apparently is a sweat over it story 🤨
