The FTH Auction is live!

I've offered one piece of fiction, 5 to 10K minimum. (I'm not promising anything, but the last two auction stories ending up at 53K and 39K words, respectively. Give me an interesting prompt, and who knows how much I'll write?!)

My listed fandoms for the auction are Marvel Comics (heavy on the Steve and Bucky), MCU (also heavy on the Steve and Bucky), and the RDJ Sherlock Holmes films (because I feel like I've got a story or two in that fandom left in me.) But if you'd like me to write in pretty much any other fandom I've written in, I'm also game.

There are a ton wonderful organizations being supported by the auction, so bid on me or someone else and help out. (I've picked four organizations for my auction: Navajo Water Project / DigDeep, Prison Policy Initiative *, SWOP (Sex Worker Outreach Project) Behind Bars *, abortion fund: Yellowhammer Fund. The ones marked with * accept international donations.)

In a moment of weakness, I have signed up for the Fandom Trumps Hate auction. Mostly because there's some really fantastic organizations being supported. So, if you'd like a 5-10K story from me (possibly longer if I get inspired) stay tuned for the auction details.

In TV news, I watched the first episode of Station Eleven on Thursday out of curiosity, and now three days later I've finished zipping through all ten episodes. Pre-Covid, I was rather fond of Pandemic Wipes Out Most of Humanity stories, but I have to say all the pandemic stuff in the beginning of the show now really stresses me the eff out.

Infectious disease stress aside, I thought the show was really beautifully made and constructed. The narrative jumps forward and backward in time, making you work a bit to keep up, but everything ties together in a very satisfying way in the final episode. And it's just full of brilliant performances, from the leads down to minor side characters. I was especially happy to see Lori Petty, playing the conductor of the Traveling Symphony, the nomadic theatre troupe keeping Shakespeare alive, post-pandemic.

After a brief relapse (PSA: don't go to a hockey tournament followed by a huge mall with a thirteen-year-old when you have a concussion) I'm feeling good enough to get back on the computer.

I've been meaning to do a post highlighting all the lovely things I've won in charity auctions the past two years for age, so here that is.

For the Marvel Trumps Hate 2018 auction, I won the artistic talents of

potofsoup. I requested a comic in our shared Wuxia Avengers universe, and created a lovely comic with monk!Bruce and fox spirit!Nat bonding.

For last year's Fandom Trumps Hate auction, I won the writing talent of

marginaliana.

She wrote a fab Grand Tour story for me, Banked Track, a wonderful Richard/James story, with Richard confronting various fears.

And finally, for the 2019 Marvel Trumps Hate auction, I won a two character cross stitch from Rebel Meg Cuties.

She created this fab Steve and Bucky piece.

Since the idea of writing fic for someone in support of organizations resisting Trump's America appealed, I threw my hat in the ring for the Fandom Trumps Hate auction this year.
