Spent the day trying not to hack up a lung (and nearly broke a rib in the attempt) and watching a bit of telly (Life on Mars! House repeats!). Ah, the joys of a PVR.

RED

1. Closest red thing to you?
A Matchbox fastback Mustang.

2. Last thing to make you angry?
A programmer who yet again promised he'd have me a training environment up for a session this week and yet again failed to deliver. Grrr.

3. Do you have a temper?
Occasionally. Though I try to keep it under control. (It definitely slipped the leash with the aforementioned programmer.)

4. Are you a fan of romance?
I generally deny it, but I'm probably deluding myself.

ORANGE

1. Closest orange thing to you?
Chinese phrasebook.

2. Do you like to burn things?
Yep. At Girl Guide camp, my tent always won the lighting the campfire competitions.

3. Dress up for Halloween?
I'd love to, but never quite manage it.

4. Are you usually a warm-hearted person?
I try to be, but temperamentally I reckon I'm a bit distant.

5. Are you usually full of energy?
Mostly. Except when I burn the candle at both ends and finally crash.

YELLOW

1. Closest yellow thing to you?
A post-it with a list of in-progress stories.

2. The happiest time[s] of your life?
Now's pretty darn good. Or any of the last ten years, just because they've been shared with the love of my life, a.k.a. the Sweetie.

3. Favourite holiday?
Theatre in London? Sightseeing in San Francisco? Shopping in Hong Kong? So many choices and they're all good.

4. Are you a coward?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

5. Do you burn or tan?
I burn at first and then turn a definite brown.

GREEN

1. Closest green thing to you?
The crazy little Japanese figure whose name I can never remember.

2. Do you care about the environment?
Yes, and I try to be conscious about my consumption of things, though it's difficult.

3. Are you jealous of anyone right now?
At the moment, no. But I sometimes am.

4. Are you a lucky person?
I generally fall toward the unlucky end of the spectrum, and plan accordingly. Though as the Sweetie points out, bad things happen to me, but they're not usually things that are going to out and out kill me.

5. Do you always want what you can't have?
Not usually.

6. Do you like being outdoors?
Sometimes.

7. Are you Irish?
One quarter. (One quarter Cornish, one half Latvian.)

BLUE

1. Closest blue thing to you?
My writing ideas folder.

2. Are you good at calming people down?
Absolutely. I do it every day at my job. And various friends have threatened to hire my services at calming down babies. (We'll see if it works on my own.)

3. Do you like the sea?
Very much. (I'm a sailor's daughter, so I reckon it's genetic.)

4. What was the last thing that made you cry?
The second season finale of Doctor Who. The final scene between Rose and the Doctor made me weep uncontrollably, which I was not at all expecting.

5. Are you a logical thinker?
Yes. And also, no.

6. Can you sleep easily?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

PURPLE

1. closest purple thing to you?
CD case with the Morten Harket album I burned from iTunes.

2. Like being treated to expensive things?
Depends on what and by who.

3. Do you like mysterious things?
Definitely. What's life without mystery?

4. Favourite type of chocolate?
Can't eat chocolate anymore. (More's the pity.) But I loved Godiva truffles when I could.

5. Ever met anyone from myspace?
Probably, but not knowingly.

6. Are you creative?
I hope so.

PINK

1. Closest pink thing to you?
A little ceramic figure of Piglet from Winnie the Pooh.

2. Do you like sweet things?
Yes, but not too sweet.

3. Like play-fighting?
Very much. (Loved, loved, loved sparring when I could still do martial arts. Stoopid arthritis.)

4. Are you sensitive?
Yes.

5. Do you like punk music?
Abso-fuckin'-lutely.

WHITE

1. Closest white thing to you?
One of my favourite mugs.

2. Would you say you're innocent?
I don't think I am, but then I hear something that shocks me.

3. Always try to keep the peace?
Try to. I'm not big on confrontation or flaming rows. But I'll stand up for myself when pushed.

4. How do you imagine your wedding?
Was never one of those gals who imagined their wedding, except for imagining that I didn't really want one. But I did always swear if I had to get married, I'd do it in a red Chinese cheong sam, and when we finally broke down and did it, that's exactly what I wore.

5. Do you like to play in the snow?
I used to. Haven't done it properly for years.

6. Are you afraid of going to the doctor or the dentist?
The dentist, not at all. (I actually get fillings with no freezing most of the time.) Given my medical history, I probably should be afraid of doctors, but hope springs eternal.

BLACK

1. Closest black thing to you?
My headphones.

2. Ever enjoy hurting people?
There are a very, very few people I'd no doubt like to hurt, but I know I'd only feel guilty afterwards, no matter how heinous they were.

3. Are you sophisticated or silly?
Both.

4. Would you like to go to space?
Yes. Wanted desperately to be an astronaut when I was a kid. Even did three years of astrophysics in university.

5. Do you have a lot of secrets?
Some.

6. What is your favourite colour?
Hunter green.

7. Does the colour you wear affect your mood?
It's probably safer to say that my mood affects the colour I wear.
